Not as silent as I hoped
I wanted a fan that would reveal air slowly and quietly without drafts, just enough to mix cool air at the floor and warm air at the ceiling. This fan, while a sufficient product generally, doesn't have a low enough speed to do this. It was too noisy and created a noticable draft even at the lowest scenery.

Scarcely what I wanted!
I've been disappointing to get a nice little fan for my room ever since I moved to San Francisco about a year and a half ago. A fan running on low can state look after nice white noise for going to sleep. Plus, I live on the top floor with no AC and lots of South fa windows so it gets toasty. I only got this fan a few days ago and sadly its cool here so I can't fully test its capabilities. However, I can already asseverate this will meet my needs. This fan is powerful, reasonably quiet, and sturdy. It has a nice substantial have a to it. It's a bit bigger than I imagined although I'm sure the dimensions are correct. I love the rotating feature to unambiguous the air in different directions. I've already been using that to cool me off after biking home with groceries. The 3 speed lash is easy to use and doesn't feel cheap. The footing/base is sturdy as well. I've never worried about the fan tipping over. I'm looking well-developed to using the removable face feature for cleaning. Dusty old fans are gross and reaching between the grill is no fun. Inclusive, I'm totally satisfied and I have no doubt this fan will be durable!

Precisely ok
This fan is no more than OK. Not as great as other reviews mentioned. A box fan works just as well. Not at all quiet. Have to turn the volume way up if watching tv.

Amount Junk, avoid at all costs
This fan claims it can sortie air 70 feet. WRONG! Not possible to feel the air 10 feet from this fan. I have a $19.95 outspoken-standing fan from Sears that pushes more air than this piece of junk. I don't know why all these people are giving it "last word reviews". Maybe all these positives reviews are Vornado stock holders. :)

I amity this heater!
This midget space heater is very efficient and quiet. The plastic grill never overheats and so is safe to the press. Also, the room gets nice and toasty without being hot and dry. I've had mine for a while now and although it may seem pricey, it's worth the price. I really do amity my heater! :)

SOLD! - with many uncertainties at first waiting to see how long it last
My abode office space continues to be colder then remainder of the house. Needed something that would keep the warm air mobile, quiet, safe and efficient. I have tried several forced air space heaters (and clearly some of those digital crap shoots) with an additional small fan to keep the air moving. After "blowing" through several space heaters and fans (fan motor in each always first to go) I was looking for a raise alternative (safety first and overall comfort with added efficiency) - Found Vornado!

* Blows a steady warm temperature without being too hot
* Slows down automatically at the right time to still keep the gentle comfort of irritated air
* It does simply what is stated, you get rid of the constant cycle of HOT to cold and keeps a good feel affection for air circulation
* Easy controls with no guess work
* Quiet (does not come across in forum calls on High and barely can hear on low)

* Does perfect for my needs so far - At this time seems well good extra cost in efficiency, safety and comfort

* Cannot comment on overall longevity or sustained term reliability, if does not live up to the extra cost I will update my post.

I do not care saying, if paying extra for quality product then so be it, MADE IN USA - all the better... it is not every day I can find both, I really hope I will not be let down.

A wood stove that doesn't...
I principled received, and scheduled a return for this heater. Right out of the box it doesn't get above 80 degrees excitement output (checked with an HVAC thermometer.) In comparison, I tested an old Lakewood heater, ideal 792/jr (http://www.amazon.com/Lakewood-792-JR-Forced-Utility/dp/B000BWNPRW) and the Lakewood certainly reached 151 degrees heat output. The Vornado is a bit quieter than the Lakewood, but that's the only up-side.

Oh, and I agree with the postings about the Vornado fan; I've had mine for 5+ years, and it's still affluent strong!

a winter just the same from time to time gift
It was a forte for my brother and sister-in-law whose home heating system malfunctioned in the coldest month of the winter, they fervour this heater, and use it as a space heater now that their central unit is working again. It is quiet and efficient.

Vornado Oil-burning stove
This merchandise was not up to past Vornado standards. It did a poor job of heating to 2 areas where tried. It was also noisy. I returned it for marines. They replaced the motor, which was in stock, but could not complete the repair because they had no replacement power cords. At that nicety, I requested a refund which is in process. It takes 5 minutes to buy on line, but takes 5 days to make a credit card refund, go figure.
This company has provided quality products at importance prices, I hope they are not going the way of so many American companies, failing to meet even mediocre standards.

Didn't exertion as expected
I was a barely disappointed in this product, after seeing all of the rave reviews that it got. What we have is a brick house that is a little chill in the winter. I wanted something to help heat the living room, so we didn't have to fire the furnace unendingly. The living room is about 15x20 with one end open to the stairs and dining room. I think this is the problem. This oven didn't put out enough heat to even create a noticable difference in this room. Should it have? I don't know. In all fairness we tried several contrastive types of heaters (ceramic and convection) and they didn't do the job either. Even an Edenpure heater did nothing. But I was hoping that with the reviews that this range got, that it would have been the one to work. It wasn't. Maybe it would work much better in a smaller room that didn't have big openings like the living dwelling does. Don't know because I returned the product.

Marvellous Little Heater!
This oil-burning stove really IS amazing! It's used to heat a pretty good sized common square. And you really KNOW this bugga is not only heating the room, but the hallways, galley kitchen field and all this in a 3 bdrm/2 bath place!

You really KNOW it's working when you open any closed front entrance to enter adjoining room and you see how COLD it is in there! When i first experienced this I was shocked to see how it was actually heating the full area. And we don't run this high (around 72 max) for this to be the case. It makes life tolerable in the cold pep up. And this is saying a whole lot as we're spoiled from the Tropics and anything below 60 degrees makes me run for the sweater!

Amazed? You bet.

throw away
Set to max animate and blew out mild warm air...I was able to keep my hand in front of heater for 3-5 minutes without once consciousness I had to move my hand because it was to hot....piece of crap for the money. I was told maybe it was defective and requested a refund preferably of an exchange.

Nonpareil!
Have the DVTH Stove-top for about 3 months. When I first took it out of the box, I thought "how is this little, lightweight thing going to heat up a apartment?" Well it does. I'm using it in a 2 room basement area and it's great. I actually have to shut off it after a few minutes because it heats up the room that good. Also, not a noisy humming, vibrating sound and wonderful compact and easy to lift to any area. And it's so simple to use and change the temperature...

Unequalled Room Heater
This is an bonzer heater with many options. It is has thermostat controls and turns off when the area has reached the target temperature. It can run "squiffed" to quickly warm a room or "Low" to keep a room temperature steady. The fan disperses heat well in accurate Vornado fashion, providing good coverage. It's also quiet. This model fan lasts a long moment in reasonably clean environments. It costs a bit more than some room heaters, but it's worth it - I've had one for three winters and it's current strong. It's helped me keep my house heated consistently and keeps my drafty livingroom very comfy.

For the payment and job it does, still haven't found anything better. My only issues is buying these wicks every season, but thats the penalty for having a humidifier that doesn't leave condensation or contribute to mold growth in your bagnio! I'd recommend it to anyone.

inclination they lasted longer!
The Wicks effort great when you first get them. Eventually, they succumb to mineral deposits and lose their ability to wick. I manipulate to get 4-6 weeks out of one set. I wish that they lasted longer or that there was a solvent you could use to dissolve the minerals (hot first works a little). Until that happens, I'll be buying refills on a regular basis. I suppose that it beats enchanting lots of colds or having dry skin all the time.

Cheaper when you buy more & no shipping!
I, too, find it irritating that I have to buy these filters online, but when I bought them here from Amazon (instead of a cheap-o place), I got one free with Amazon's 4-for-3 and uninhabited supersaver shipping. And why not buy 4? 4 packs (which is 8 total filters) is not a huge amount (I'll use them this winter and next) - and you're thrifty $15 (plus shipping!) in the process. Not a bad deal, and I know I'll get the real Vornados from Amazon -- not the thwack-offs. On the off-chance I do get knock-offs, I know Amazon will make it right. We're remarkably happy with our Vornado.

Overheating Disquiet - Fire Hazzard?
My mate and I bought this several years ago and really liked it at first. However, recently we had a VERY serious concern. This has been one of the coldest weeks in just out history and this little heater has been put to work. Usually we just leave it on auto and it expertly turns itself on and off when needed to heat up our cold dining room. But apparently it has been overworking this week...

Today my spouse pulled the DVTH's plug out to plug something else in the same outlet and noticed that part of the outlet cover was imperfect. She then noticed the end of the heater's plug was extremely hot. It appears that part of the plastic on both the plug and outlet hide has been melted... 'sigh of relief' I think that could have started a fire had my wife not unplugged it today.

On the artefact's website it says it has an "Automatic Safety Shutoff." Not so sure about that... It should also be noted that a former version of this model, the DVH, was recalled in 2004. The Problem then: "A faulty electrical connection can prime mover the heater to overheat and stop working, posing a fire hazard to consumers."

Sound knowledgeable about?
