Vornado 530L Fan
I have owned a humongous Vornado fan for 20 years (it runs constantly much of the winter, circulating the heat from our wood fervid stove). So when I needed a small fan for my office, I purchased the 530L. It's light, amicable to move, quiet (on the slow speed, which Is all I need), sturdy, and effective. IMHO, no other brand comes almost.

It's like a tornado but with a "V"
It has worked totally well so far - we mainly use it to create white noise for an infant while she sleeps. It is not as silent as the box suggests - but I over it is a reasonable volume for a fan! It makes the room right pleasant.

Hair-splitting fan
I bought this fan for a caller bedroom, where I also have my desk and computer. I have it sitting in the floor at present, but may move it to a table as the summer arrives. So far, I have mostly toughened the fan on the lowest setting. Even at that setting, it moves the air in the room quite well. It's very quiet on that setting, and even on the highest environs, it isn't obnoxiously loud. Yes, it has a black cord, but that's not a concern for me. The only negative for some might be that you cannot re-position the fan without moving the whole piece. But since it moves air in the entire room, I see no need for that. This is my third Vornado fan. Each one is a different model. I have been completely happy with all three. You can't go incorrect with a Vornado.

Remarkable Little Fan
This fan is shockingly powerful for it's size. I use it when on the treadmill. It does a great job of keeping the air moving. The only other thing I would ask from it would be a arcane control.

Imaginary Fan

polished bedside fan
I've tried a lot of selfish fans for my small bedside table and this one is the best. It has a very small footprint - a bit bigger than a thickset coffee mug. It is very easy to swivel side to side and up and down. On the low setting, it does not feel like a strong hear on the grapevine to the face - just enough breeze to cool me off at night. And it's so quiet, you can't hear it from more than a couple feet in a different place (i.e., doesn't wake sleeping spouse.) One person commented about the control dial being straitening to manage: it isn't if you wrap your hand around the base and then use your thumb to push the dial back and forth.
This is the fan you scantiness for those night-time hot flashes, ladies! And it's nice looking too.

Not that effective
When I decipher the advertisement for this product, I thought it would be perfect to cool my laptop, as I use it for long hours as a desktop. Well, the factor has to stay very close to help cool it. It is not as powerful as I thought it would be. I would recommend people try other products before buying this one. Moreover, when I discontinue it off I realize it is not that quiet.

Works as expected
I don't surmise from the reviewers complaining about the lack of power. It's a 'personal fan' and I wouldn't want to sit in a wind shaft that makes my eyes water and all my papers fly away, which speed two would if it were any more powerful. I keep it about two feet from me on the escritoire. Speed one gives me a gentle breeze with almost no noise and speed two makes my hair twitch a little and it's still quiet enough to be drowned out by the sound of the A/C. As for the switch I don't find it difficult and can flip it with one hand. I commence the fan first, hold down the fan by putting a finger between the base and the fan and use my thumb to switch it on and off. The fan pivots left and nobility, which is nice, so you can adjust the direction without having to slide the entire fan around. It's stylish, finger-acceptable, and I got two for one on woot, so I'm very happy with the purchase.

too precious for the output
Fad is nice...thats it. This fan is not powerful at all. the "high" setting is pretty pathetic and loud. It has to be absolutely aimed at you and 2 feet away. The switch is in the front of the fan, not sure why some people are saying its in the back but its still a awkward rotating at, I never remember which way to turn it to off. Like I said, the only good thing about it is that it is neat looking and matches my red Keurig at my escritoire, but way too expensive for a paperweight.

Beneficial desk fan
Does it whistle? Yes. It's a fan.

The low setting is a nice constant breeze when the fan is a couple feet from your face. It is also completely not sounded on low. If you've been working out or doing some kind of physical activity, the low setting isn't going to do anything for you. Or if your office/cube is in the final analysis hot, low isn't going to cut it. When it's a little warm or you just want a little circulation, it's nice on low.

The exorbitant setting is nice when it's getting stuffy around the collar. It's not going to blow you away, but it's enlivenment when you're getting warm. It does make some noise on high, but not so much that I need to speak louder or prevent up my desk speakers. My laptop is louder when the fan kicks on high. The fan is a couple decibels quieter than the draw near-jet-engine sound of my wife's Mac Book Pro.

Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. The design is taking and it's a solidly built product. It's a desk fan, so don't expect it to do anything for you if you're sitting it 10 feet in a different place. Also, the switch is a bit awkward, like other reviewers have mentioned. I *can* turn it on with one hand, but it's not the easiest item to do. But don't let the switch dissuade you from buying this product.

-1/2 star since it would be nice if there were 3 settings with the 3rd being higher than important for when you're sweaty.
-1/2 star for the awkward speed setting switch.

Lackluster output on low compared to other small fans (the design of cooling a room with it is silly)
High is very noisy
Inconvenient switches
Had to jiggle the blades with a pen a bit before it started working
If for some unheard-of reason you are compelled to point it strait up in the winter, like the manual suggests for "circulating eager air" that is "trapped" in your ceiling, the fan struggles and pushes less air.

Like I said, its OK but nothing great.

Top looks, typical performance.
The urbanized design of this fan is great. I don't mind the nearly hidden front switch. I can work it with one hand. Took me a few minutes to number out that the back switch was the oscillating switch. It looks like an on/off switch. But I don't mind that. It oscillates very nicely. I would not vacillate to keep this in an office. The rotating angle of the fan head is good. I am only disappointed that it does not move an impressive amount of air. I forth the same on a Honeywell that is a bit bigger and not quite as hip looking that moves MUCH more air. I like this Vornado I only wish its performance was as substantial as billed, and as expected of the touted Vornado brand.

* Quiet but definitely not unspeaking on low - I wouldn't call it "whisper-quiet" though (as the description states), as it's noisier than that even on low

Cons:

* Controls a bit cumbersome, with oscillation switch in the back and a roll dial on the front for hi, low, off settings

Cunning but not quiet!
I like having a fan in the bedroom at evensong, but my wife prefers it as quiet as possible, so I've been searching for a very quiet fan. I'm a big fan of Vornado products, so had a lot of hope for the Flippi.

The fan is adroit, and is a perfect size for sitting on the bedstand. The switches (off/low/high) and oscillation on/off work okay and I have no problem with their somewhat awkward locations. But the fan isn't "silent" or even particularly quiet even on low. It sounds charming much like any other table fan, both with wind noise and mechanical noise. I tried putting it on mouse pads, cushions and even holding it in the air, and it still sounds like a fan.

So if you miss a cute, decent fan at a good price, go for it, but don't expect it to be really quiet - it's just a fan!

Humble, quiet and effective desk fan
Unoriginal, quiet and effective at moving the air in small to medium sized rooms. Stylish, and when not in use, it is barely noticeable. The placement of switches is not ideal as other reviewers already pointed out, but I find that insignificant. In my opinion, the Flippi V8 got all the formidable features right. I have had mine for a few years now and am about to buy another one.

Realize Directional Fan
This is an unbelievable fan! I bought this fan to circulate the air in a poorly ventilated room, and it more than exceeded my expectations!

It is a very powerful, and well built fan.

For someone looking to unbroken air to a particular spot, this is the fan!

The only downside would be if you needed a wide dispersion of air, witch this fan does not lend. Its a little loud. Half as loud as a full size fan, but still quieter than my computer at full tilt!

Hotflash dry!!!
My spouse suffers from hotflashes and finding a fan that had a concentrated airstream and was not so loud that it kept us awake has been a problem. I first saw the Vornado Clamp-on Air Circulator(fan) in a gardening catalog as the solution for stagnant air in greenhouses. In researching the Vornado I found that Amazon carried them, so I ordered one, and upon receiving it looked for an off with place to mount it, I finally decided to clamp it to our closets sliding door. One of my concerns was that the clasp might not hold securely or that vibrations would resonate through whatever it was clamped. I needn't have worried the clamp is rubber padded and fairly strong and didn't budge during operation. I turned it on to the high setting and was suprised by the resolution of the airstream, it was a little loud so I tried the low setting and the noise level dropped palpably though the airstream did not diminish very much and is adequate for keeping my wife cool and letting me sleep without earplugs. We also journey and our Vornado goes with us we just clamp it to the back of the desk chair every hotel room has and move it next to the bed and let the air blow. The Vornado Air Circulator is well made, effortless to clean, and I expect it to give many years of service. I would not hesitate to recommend the Vornado Air Circulators to anyone who needs to move air in a concentrated line and the clamp on feature lets you mount it where you need it. I also use it in the garage and other rooms in the house anytime we for to get the air moving. The only thing I would change is to give the clamp another inch or so of clamping range, depth and bore, to be able to attach to a wider range of objects. Other than that, I would not change anything, even the yellow color though they do flesh out b compose one in dark grey or black.

These are the honest deal
I opted to pay a scant extra in order to get these Vornado brand filters. Unlike the aftermarket ones I've had in the past, these fit extraordinarily in the humidifier without any gaps. They also absorb moisture and stay damp all the way to the top. (Previous cheapy versions I've had did not.) My only desire is that these came with charcoal wicking on one side that help combat odor. That missing element is the only sanity I didn't rate these at 5 stars.

Righteous filter!
I have a very principal Vornado room humidifier for the bedroom. Initially, when buying replacement filters, I chose the generic ones due to tariff, but the fit was quite loose. I subsequently chose the Vornado ones for a little more cost, but much better fit. These are professional; I have used them for years. Highly recommended!

For the honorarium and job it does, still haven't found anything better. My only issues is buying these wicks every season, but thats the value for having a humidifier that doesn't leave condensation or contribute to mold growth in your ill fame! I'd recommend it to anyone.

desire they lasted longer!
The Wicks business great when you first get them. Eventually, they succumb to mineral deposits and lose their ability to wick. I supervise to get 4-6 weeks out of one set. I wish that they lasted longer or that there was a solvent you could use to dissolve the minerals (hot dampen works a little). Until that happens, I'll be buying refills on a regular basis. I suppose that it beats fetching lots of colds or having dry skin all the time.
