Overheating Charge - Fire Hazzard?
My partner and I bought this several years ago and really liked it at first. However, recently we had a VERY serious concern. This has been one of the coldest weeks in up to date history and this little heater has been put to work. Usually we just leave it on auto and it cleverly turns itself on and off when needed to heat up our cold dining room. But apparently it has been overworking this week...

Today my strife pulled the DVTH's plug out to plug something else in the same outlet and noticed that part of the outlet cover was tarnished. She then noticed the end of the heater's plug was extremely hot. It appears that part of the plastic on both the plug and outlet dissemble has been melted... 'sigh of relief' I think that could have started a fire had my wife not unplugged it today.

On the issue's website it says it has an "Automatic Safety Shutoff." Not so sure about that... It should also be noted that a untimely version of this model, the DVH, was recalled in 2004. The Problem then: "A faulty electrical connection can induce the heater to overheat and stop working, posing a fire hazard to consumers."

Scant design
I leaning the size and looks of this little fan. The bad part is that it is difficult to turn of and on. You have to pick the thing up and balance the bottom and ride a wheel which is hard to access. Would not buy another one.

Perfected for the office
I by have it on Low, which is virtually noiseless. Even the High setting cannot be heard at the next desk. It provides a cooling lead-pipe cinch without disturbing any paper on my desk. My only complaint is that it is so lightweight, I can't use the controls one-handed, as the fan tends to move before the shift does. Will be putting it on a small mat, and I expect this to solve the problem.

This product has a small footprint (mythic for a crowded desk) and it stays in the position I want, instead of gradually pointing going as my last fan did.

Fan works colossal, does as promised - even looks good
I wanted a mignonne relatively inexpensive fan to replace the Staples bought typical 6-inch plastic frond fan that didn't work well.

The Flippi is just fine. I'm immediately much more comfortable. The noise consistent is non-existent on low, and not a problem on high. The product design is novel with a certain cool piece. I have no problems turning it on/off with one finger. Will consider the larger model the next time I need one.

Not so gresat
The Vornado V6 Flippi Fan has much less power than I correct. It is hard to turn on & off. That requires 2 hands, which is NOT what I wanted for a bedside fan for middle of the night hot flashes. Its OK for day interval, very close-up fanning. Quite over priced for the performance.

alarming fan!
i typically keep my chore door shut to be more productive during the day. door shut = stuffy, hot office. i needed a fan uncontrollably. i tried two different fans i already had but they didn't work out - one was too beat up and ugly and the other was too big. they were both too loud.

i looked around, decipher some reviews and decided to order a vornado. it sounds like the brand has a good name, and the fan itself is really distant looking. i actually ordered the zippi fan (with the cloth arms), but received the flippi as opposed to! i was a little distressed because i had read that the flippi wasn't a good product, made too much noise, etc. well, those reviews are Defective. it is a great fan and i'm glad i got it instead.

i have the fan on low right now, about two feet away, and it is 100% silent and doing it's job. i texture a nice, cool breeze. i just turned it to high and it is not too loud for my office use (if you were in a cube it might be) and the air crop is really incredible for such a small machine. my question to these other reviewers is how much air do you want blowing on you at one beat and why is $25.00 an unreasonable price point for a fan?

it is a little awkward to turn on and off, and requires two hands. also, the on/off dial on the establish is plastic and feels a little bit flimsy. this is why i'm giving it 4 stars. but who knows? it could last forever. we will fitting have to see.

honestly, for the cool factor of its design, the color choices and its performance, i don't think you can rout it. i would buy another one for sure.

One Marked Heavy-Duty Fan
When my position "Vornado Heavy-Duty Shop Fan" first arrived and I looked at the size and thought "Impossible" ....To say the least the Fan has replaced two of my fans a Lasko 24" fan and a Lasko 20" get to one's feet fan ....
The Vornado really moves a lot of air ...It is not as noisy as the other two fans either and I can hear myself think for once.
I like it so much I fitting ordered a second one and believe me you won't be disappointed. I say this as a retired Specifications Engineer.

I'm a fan of this fan
This is a true product. It will run continuously and quietly without heating up like the "bargain fans" do, and it's much quieter, too. I also like the three-prong advertisement and longer, heavy duty cord.

I think some people equate noise with velocity when assessing a fan- this is a faux pas with a Vornado.

To the letter what I need!
This is a tremendous fan for working musicians. It's very still and very powerful. I've wasted money on all kinds of big, noisy, weak fans. Vornado is the best [...] I've done up. It's small, light-weight, strong, durable, and quiet. You cannot find a better fan at any price. I right-minded hope they start making it in black too.

Unnaturally advertised
This is not severe duty especially when used as a fan. Even on the highest of the 3 speeds it is very weak and the best you can say is that it will not stir up store dust. Vornado products continue to rely more and more on name alone and not on fact. Too bad.

A non-fulfilment to the Vornado name
I ordered this fan for it's diminish looks and because I have always been impressed with the power of vornando fans. Bottom line is this fan does not move air well (no way it moves air 30 feet) and the emphasis it produces is a bit unpleasant, not the delightful timbre that the standard Vornando fans have.

Tenderness My Fan
I de facto love my little fan. He has helped save on the use of my air conditioner because it keeps my living room abate. The high speed is a little nosy but the low speed is real guiet. It has a switch for the oscilator, which is minute. The only thing I wish it had is a switch for the "on" "off" button instead of a roll dial. I have to use two hands to twist it off. One to hold the fan, and the other hand to roll the dial. Otherwise I love it. Terri

A well-mannered, versatile fan!
I bought the Flippi V8 today and I adulation it. The main reason for my love is that it replaces a floor model fan that stood out like a tender thumb. This fan sits on the shelf, oscillates, and does what it's designed to do-keep me cool.

I do agree that the oscillation swop could have been better placed but because this is a "personal" fan, I do not see that I will need to access the switch very often. If I do, I can just pick the fan up, fright it around, and flip the switch.

I intend to let it run 24/7 and I have 4 cats so it will be interesting to see how long it last.

Complicated looking fan that fails to deliver.
This is a agreeably-looking fan with its polished black body and folding feature (the fan turns completely down so the grill is esoteric and all you see is a big black thing-a-majig). But, the fan doesn't give that great of air output and is a bit noisy (ok in low mode but too grating in high mode). Also, the oscillating button is hidden in the back of the fan - very inconvenient. But, the worse inanimate object is the on/off switch is a hard-to-move dial located in the front. You need 2 hands to turn the fan on and off. One hand to keep the whole fan from falling while turning it on/off, and the other hand to actually turn the difficult on/off dial switch. The fan looks in point of fact cool but just doesn't do it for me.
