Description
The Vortex Oil-burning stove not only generates heat but also circulates heat throughout the entire room-cheer for the entire family. In neutral whitestone, the VH2 blends well in any family live, living room or general office spaces.By projecting a severe "beam" of air across a room, this lightweight, portable heater gently blankets the unexceptional room in warmth. The vortex-action beam forces air towards the live's perimeter, thus heating the entire room, floor to ceiling, go bankrupt to wall. Quiet and compact, the heater measures just 12 inches leading, 12 inches wide, and 10 inches deep. Two ignite outputs (1,500 watts on high, 750 watts on low) and a unpredictable heat control provide precise temperature control. Two fan settings permit a determination of continuous action or cycling on and off with the heating element, which is controlled by a thermostat that unconsciously turns the heater on and off to maintain a selected temperature. All controls are mounted on the stove-top's top for easy access.
Several features ensure safety: a nonglowing heating unit mounted to nonflammable mica, automatic shutoff if the unit tips over or overheats, and a chill-touch cabinet. Because the heater has angled vents, it can be placed with its back buddy-buddy to the wall. Finally, the heater can be set in antifreeze mode, turning on only if a dwelling's temperature falls below 40 degrees F. The heater carries a one-year pledge against defects. --Fred Brack
Customer Reviews
Bought a other heater and had the same issue. We purchased one of these same units and it only lasted a year of be discovered use. Thinking that I could buy the same heater and have spare parts if it failed I purchased a new heater. It also lasted due over a year of light use in southern California. I called customer service and was notified that my oil-burning stove was out of warranty. I was offered a 40% discount on a new unit. If you like throwing your money to a different place go ahead and buy one of these...
Insignificant but Mighty
I amity my Vornado. Living in Southern California you might not think that you need a heater, but the winter nights can be unequivocally frigid.I bought one for myself as I get cold easily. It is so popular in my house that it's the first thing my sister wants when she's visiting, also my son when he's home from college. It takes the coolness off of a room instantly and can warm the whole room in about 15 minutes. It is not hot to the touch,is pet friendly, and seems very risk-free to use. We are saving energy by using the Vornado instaed of heating the whole house. This heater has really other to the quality of our lives. I am a big fan of this fan!
I have a lot of encounter with Vornado now ... (BAD)
I am composition this review because my current Vornado heater(s) ... that's
two of them failed within a week of each other, and after not that much
use. When I got my first heater, I wrote a productive review, based on
when it was working even though they were expensive.
This one, pictured here, the VH2 failed because the red switch on top
started to cut in and out, and definitely just refused to turn on. I took
it apart but there was nothing I could do about it.
I had this heater for a bit over a year, and probably turned it on and
ran it for 60 period total. I did not turn it off and on a lot, or abuse
it. I was sitting near it one night and started to see it fail, it
cut in and out and stopped working.
Now, that would be one feeling, but I have had 3 other Vornado heater
products too. I like them when they are working.
I had two of the digital metal enclosure heaters. I have had them
for a twosome of years, and they both just stopped working. I unplugged,
waited and replugged - no luck - WITH EITHER Stove-top. I also did not
like these because they had a big blue LED on top that would light
up an entire room. Anyway, the one that just failed I think the
thermostat on one's uppers, the other one just refused to turn on.
Now ... the reason I liked Vornado to begin with was the earlier
pattern of the VH2. I had a grey one, and it is still working like
a champ. If I could buy another one I would in a heartbeat, but I
am never buying another Vornado product ever after the drape of
failures I have had with their new heaters.
What I liked about the one that worked was that it is quiet, and
reliable, and never got too hot, as in hot enough to catch anything
on fire. They had to mess with the heaters, to jazz them up with
digital this and that, and assume enclosures and cheaper components,
and they lost track of their orginal intent, to make a out of harm's way
reliable product.
I am not sure what else to recommend, because I want to like the
Vornados, but I will not chance it at these overinflated prices.
Take these things aside from and they have very few cheap components,
so what is the reason they are so incredibly expensive. A plastic
housing, thin metal heating elements, a fan, and some switches, and
it should take less than 5 minutes to bring.
A friend of mine has a comparable heater to the VH2 that she got
at a rummage sale for $5 that circulates back and forth and is
very compare favourably with, but without an accurate thermostat - but it's nice,
it works and it was cheap. I'd like to say I trust the Vornado more,
because I used to resign the house frequently with it on because I
trusted that it would not start a fire ... now with that component
failures I am not so sure.
If anyone can counsel another brand of heater, please let me know.
Until I hear and see different with some reasonable prices I will
stay to a different place from Vornado and recommend you to do the same.
I am talking 3/4 failures within two years and an average price of
$100 per heater. That is not a to the fullest extent buy by any stretch.
Very placatory!
This is the jiffy Vornado I've purchased, and it was just great to see the updates they've incorporated and the new styling. My first one still works great but I gave it to someone to try and hasn't find back!
The enveloping circle of air works very well in my drafty house, it sits right in front of my chair, and I almost have an aversion to to get up. But when I do the room is warm too. Being in Florida we don't have effective methods to heat our house during cold existence, so I use this to heat just the room I am in, and it does that extremely well, its very portable too. For when the grandchildren visit I am chuffed for the safety features, nothing hot for them to touch and it has the tip-over turnoff.
I will never buy another kind of heater, this one has everything I need and more.
Cheerful at Last!!!
This wood stove changed our lives this winter. We have an old house built in 1881 in Chicago. Though we love the violent ceilings and character, our heat bills were outrageous before we got a Vornado room heater. Now, we keep the house at a reasonable heat but warm the TV room with a Vornado heater. It is quiet and keeps the room we occupy most after dream of work days warm and toasty. Thank you for a great product. We bought another one for our son's play room in the basement and have recommended
