- Reflex tip-over protection: heater shuts off if it is tipped over
- Vehicle-adjusting climate control: heat output and fan speed are continuously and precisely regulated
- 5118 BTU/hr top output
- Robot Vortex Heat® technology: circulates warm air throughout the whole room
Description
The Vornado AVH2 Oil-burning stove was featured on treehugger.com as one of the top three gadgets that can actually save you money! Vornado heaters use vortex sortie technology to fully circulate the warm air throughout the room. This is unlike most space heaters that warmness the space directly in front of the unit with the heat immediately rising to the ceiling. The AVH2 uses ineluctable climate control which adjusts the heat output and fan speed higher or discount at all times to maintain the set temperature. This eliminates annoying hot and cold cycles where the wood stove shuts off allowing the room to cool and then turns back on to heat the dwell up again. This household heater is whisper-quiet and has advanced safety features to get ready for worry-free use.

Outstanding Heater - Worth the price
We needed a range that could heat a single room instead of having to run our central heating for just one live. After researching the infrared(IF), 'soft heat' type heaters, like those shown in the Eden-Sterile commercials, we tried two. While neither was an Eden-Pure, they were the same technology. One purchased from Sears($300) excited OK but the fan was very noisy so we returned it. The 2nd was a CZ(Comfort Zone) top-of-the-line unit($450) from Earthwise that kept cycling on and off during both the irate-up period & during temperature maintenance, and after getting the run around from their customer service about getting a replacement, even though it was a known facer, we just returned it within the 30-day return period(and still had to pay $40 for return shipping). Then a compeer turned me on to the Vornado.
After researching the Vornado online, we bought one from Amazon(best evaluation!) and couldn't be more satisfied. The heater does what it's supposed to do and it does it well. It's air circulation design heats the accommodation quickly(better than the IF heaters) and the thermostat maintains the temp nicely. With the exception of a slight fan ruckus, it performed every bit as well, if not better, than the much more expensive IF units, plus it's much smaller & lighter. And for just over $80, it was a negotiate compared to the others we tried(it almost makes up for the return shipping on the IF unit!).
We definitely recommend this stove-top!

More safely a improved fan and circulation than older model
I have an older Vornado ( pattern EH1-0015 INTELLITEMP) which has to be at least 10 years old. After dragging it out of storage, I noticed than inside the fan, all the workings guts had become caked with dust and grime. Though the unit still worked fine, I decided to retire it for shelter reasons.
I wanted to stick with the Vornado brand and did some research here on Amazon and finally clear on the AVH2 model. Actually it is very similar to my old unit in that on top, there is a manual setting on the dial of the temperature you longing to keep the room at 65-90 (see my customer pic)a High-Low Heat, and High-Auto Fan. So it appears that this , the AVH2 is objective a second or third generation of my older unit.
I noticed that this model has a more powerful fan than my older entity and the heating element, thought does not glow red, puts out more heat too.
It's now the end of May and have not used this wood stove other to test the functions (I purchased this on an online auction site) I will offer any updates when colder live through comes but of what I have just noticed on a general inspection, this heater is much improved over it's older sipling.

I admiration this heater!
This measly space heater is very efficient and quiet. The plastic grill never overheats and so is safe to the touch. Also, the cubicle quarters gets nice and toasty without being hot and dry. I've had mine for a while now and although it may seem pricey, it's worth the price. I really do love my range! :)

SOLD! - with many suspicions at first waiting to see how long it last
My residence office space continues to be colder then remainder of the house. Needed something that would keep the warm air moving, noiseless, safe and efficient. I have tried several forced air space heaters (and definitely some of those digital crap shoots) with an extra small fan to keep the air moving. After "blowing" through several space heaters and fans (fan motor in each always first to go) I was looking for a better alternative (refuge first and overall comfort with added efficiency) - Found Vornado!
* Blows a constant cheerful temperature without being too hot
* Slows down automatically at the right time to still keep the gentle comfort of warm air
* It does really what is stated, you get rid of the constant cycle of HOT to cold and keeps a good warm air circulation
* Indulgent controls with no guess work
* Quiet (does not come across in conference calls on Lofty and barely can hear on low)
* Does perfect for my needs so far - At this time seems well worth extra set someone back in efficiency, safety and comfort
* Cannot comment on overall longevity or long term reliability, if does not alight up to the extra cost I will update my post.
I do not mind saying, if paying extra for importance product then so be it, MADE IN USA - all the better... it is not every day I can find both, I really hope I will not be let down.

The crush and most effecient heater that I've ever used. The added little feature of having a blower fan extremely adds a nice overall touch to the heater. I borrowed the smaller version from a financier and decided to go with the larger unit. I'm very pleased with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone!!

Lofty little heater! This thing puts out a lot of heat. I bought it for a backup when the power goes out but I've been using it a lot rightful to knock the chill off. I keep the heat pump set pretty low which is fine when I'm up moving about but when I sit down to read or anticipate tv it is a little cool. I fire this thing up for a little while to warm the room and I don't have to turn the heat bail out up and heat up the whole house. I also bought one for my cabin.

Not bad, but call to work on assembly quality
I bought this entity to heat my 480 sq/ft insulated garage with 10ft ceilings so that I could work on my car during the winter. Technically the element might be a little undersized for such a space, but then again I'm not looking for 70 degrees, just to get it bearable. I bought the constituent with the quick connect low pressure hose to connect to a 20lb LP tank.
Setting up the unit is very casually, especially with the quick connect. It takes a minute or two to purge the air out of the lines, after that the ignition should be masterful to light the pilot, which it did. Unfortunately, despite holding the pilot down for over a minute to make dependable the thermocouple was up to temperature, the pilot would immediately go out. I figured the thermocouple was working, so by process of shooting I determined that the tilt switch was either bad or disconnected.
To get to the tilt switch you have to completely disassemble the piece. Start by removing the 4 screws from the back cover, push the cover straight up to disconnect the hooks at the top and then pop it off. Liquidate the 3 screws securing the back of the handle. Remove the screw holding the handle to the left side restore (looking from the back), remove the left screw holding the metal face, remove the formerly larboard screw holding the 2 plastic pieces together, remove the left screw holding the bottom of the metal fa to the plastic side. The side piece will them rotate off from back to front. From there you should have clear access to the tilt switch, which I could immediately see was uncoordinated. An attempt had been made to hold it with silicon from the factory, but the silicon was not correctly applied or not given all at once to set. Reconnected the switch and did a test lighting in the partially disassembled state and all was good. Stop a confine the unit off before it gets warm and reassemble.
Now that my unit was actually working I could fire it up and put it to the test. It throws off a unspoilt amount of radiant heat on high, you don't want to stand too close for too long. It got my garage that was around 40 degrees up to around 60 degrees in about an hour on a 25 caste day. I'm happy with that performance. I'm running the fan with batteries for now, but will probably get an AC adapter.

I can't definitely reccomend the big buddy for use if youneed more than just a couple of hours. I needed heat in my garage for a weekend lob more than six hours to heat a °30 garage to a comfortable temprature. It Puts out about the same Btu's as my old kerosene oil-burning stove so i bought it. I didn't even bother with the 1lb canisters because i needed more than three hours and throw aways tanks are valuable and i think ecologically a dumb idea so i got the filter and the hose and a 20lb refillable. the manual dosent state which side to catch it to so i just chose one. the big buddy has two ceramic tiles in the front on low and medium only one of these ignite the second tile only comes on on the extraordinary setting, at least thats how mine worked. Low and medium worked just fine but the high mise en scene worked for about two minutes then both tiles started to flutter. i shut it down checked all my connections made infallible the tank was open and tried again, Same thing never could get it to work on high.
From some of these reviews i get the feeling i could have corrected the intractable by getting another tank, and hose, and filter and hooking up both sides. but then i would have invested in two $15. hoses, two $35. tanks and two $9. filters in counting up to the cost of the heater, plus the hoses have to be ran outside to the tanks because your not supposed to have the tanks clandestine the building meaning you have to keep a door or window open or drill holes in your walls to run the hoses.
no thanks, I took it all back.

It worked horrendous for 1 heating season...
I bought this for my wee bathroom to be mounted on the wall. It worked perfectly all winter, keeping the bathroom exquisite and warm. The timer also worked very well. Then this morning, 13 May, I turned it on to take the chill from the room in the early morning and there was no hot up. The fan works and blows, but no heat. That's very disappointing. I don't know if I will order another for next year. I'll have to think about it.

Instantaneous heat for small and mid sized rooms.
Picked up this range at one of the "mart" stores a few months ago. It warms up a small to mid sized room pretty with dispatch. It has a molded handle built into the top of the heater, making it easy to carry from room to elbow-room. Its a little bigger that some of the other personal sized fans in the same price range. Has a digital clock. You can set the stove-top to turn off/on at certain time. Also has thermostat controls to turn on/off when certain temp is reached. Can also set oil-burning stove to stay on. Also has a fan only (no heat) setting. It is listed as a bathroom fan, but it works fine in any room. It has an ALCI off to prevent overheating. It's a little too bulky to mount on a wall, but sits just subtle on a table or on the floor. Flat gray plastic body. The plastic body stays comfortable to the touch even after an hour or more of use. Only the metal grate in front is hot (but not burning hot) to the touch. Overall a good worth heater/fan combo.
Pros:
-Heat is quick and strong. Good directional warmness.
-Good size and weight. Not too heavy, Sturdy enough plastic body.
-Easy to pick up and move to another scope. Sits flats, no worries about tipping over.
-Timer, clock and thermostat controls to govern temp and running times.
-Safe for use in bathroom or other slightly damp area.
Cons.
-Uses a lot of fervency. Saw a noticeable change in electric bill after frequent use. Lights in room dim for a second when heater is tuned on.
-No impetuosity or fan level setting. Its ether ON of OFF. No LOW, MED or High setting for heat of for fan.
-Control take a little while to learn. Luckily they printed instruction on side of wood stove.
-Clock resets to blinking 12:00 when unplugged and plugged back in. No clock memory.

Does its job
I've been using this Sunbeam bathroom stove-top for about a month now with no problems. This is the first bathroom heater I've ever owned, so I unfortunately don't have anything to compare it to.
With that said, I purchased this solely for use in my peewee bathroom since it gets quite chilly in there, and so far it's kept it nice and warm. :) I cogitate on the heater is a bit noisy, but on the other hand...at least I'm not cold!
As other reviewers have said, the clock resets every be that as it may the heater is unplugged, though I haven't had a need for it yet. I've tested out the functions, like the timer, deter on, fan, and the digital thermostat, all of which work great. Also, when you turn the power off while it's still running, it switches to fan modus operandi and counts down from 10 seconds before turning off.
During the initial use, there IS a rather strong plastic smell but it seems to gradually burn up with use, though I may just be getting used to it.

Consumer Review of Honeywell HZ 7200 Oscillating Heater
I recently purchased a space wood stove for my son who was relatively recently diagnosed with MS. MS patients are sensitive to heat and cold, temp must be equitable right! I needed a space heater that oscillated and a unit where the temperature could be set, I also wanted quality more than precisely a low price. This unit from Honeywell, although marketed for kitchens of all things, worked great and looks correct too, my wife was happy with both features. I've never used Amazon for buying appliances before but the online ordering method was straight forward and the product arrived as advertised. I think I'll give Amazon another try!

Ok but other models originate more heat
I purchased this and also the "Lasko 5367 16-1/2-Inch Oscillating Clay pots Tower Heater". The Lasko has a smaller footprint but seems to generate a LOT more heat. The Lasko is taller, but still not very outrageous. I intentionally ordered two different model and manufacturers thinking I'd compare them, and I'm glad I did. I'm returning this one and getting another Lasko. (I speculate I should mention that I do not in any way benefit from sales of Lasko!).

Not what I expected
I bought this for its digital thermostat because that in the main means precise temp control. It even touts its precision on its website -- only a three measure variation from the set temp, instead of the standard six. I was really disappointed to find that instead of a digital readout of my settings, there was a protrusion; and instead of precise controls, every setting was a range of five degrees or so. The end result is I'm always too hot or too cold when I'm sleeping -- no distinguishable from a standard analog heater.

Stinting But Good
When I opened the box I compassion, "This won't work, it's about half the size I expected it to be." Still, I set it up in our moderate-sized family/TV room and tried it out. Calmly to use and control and it did just what we wanted it for--taking the chill off the lower-level room that runs about 8-10 degrees below the tea of the house when it's cold out. Very pleased with it. Quiet too!

This is a tangibles product, works very good but I have since I purchased it, I have discovered I paid way too much for it. Frustrating "BEEP"
The Delonghi wood stove works fine, however; each time the unit is turned on, off or adjusted it produces a shrill "tootle" similar to an alarm. The extremly loud sound actually peirces your ear.I work in a still office and adjust the heater many times during the day. Co-workers are complaining about this annoying distraction. Everyone knows when I get unfriendly. No way to disable this alarm and no mention in the advertisement about the beeping. Now I have to spend the money to return the wood stove. What a crazy feature for this company to add to their heaters.

Look Over Function
I have to weigh on the ceaseless debate whether this device is a loud as a hair dryer or not. My vote: It is definitely as loud as a curls dryer. Actually, it is possibly louder than a hair dryer, because my unit (which sits on a hardwood floor) shakes the fell slightly when it is running, filling the room with a low-pitched booming noise, in addition to the din of the fan itself.
I purchased this stove-top because I have owned a DeLonghi oil-filled radiator for years which has given excellent service. Unfortunately, this new DeLonghi fan stove-top has been a disappointment. It does look nice, and it has a remote control. It puts out plenty of agitation, so that's good.
The downsides: there is the noise factor. And the shaking, although you might not notice that if you had carpeting. (I put it on a towel.) It also makes fortissimo and pointless beeping noises whenever you press a button or move it. Finally, even after a year of use, it emits out a toxic chemical pong for the first minute or two after it is turned on.
It's not cheap. There must be better choices out there if you want a fan heater.

How desire would a 4.50 kW space heater have to run to put into a kitchen the same amount of heat as a refrigerator (coefficient of carrying out = 3.00) does when it freezes 2.0 kg of water at 20.0 degrees celcius into ice at 0 degrees celcius?
http://www.aie.org.au/melb/means/reso urce/cop.htm
"The coefficient of performance as a refrigerator is inflexible as:
COP = Q1/W
For example, at a COP of 3, one watt of motor power in will give rise to 3 watts of cooling at the evaporator and 4 watts of heating at the condensor. "
http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hba se/thermo/spht.html
" The exact heat of water is 1 calorie/gram °C = 4.186 joule/gram °C which is higher than any other reciprocal substance. "
You have 2000 g to drop 20 degrees or 40,000 times 4.186 to get 167440 joules
Burden Heat of fusion (kJ/kg)
water 333.55
You have 2 kg so 667.1 kJ or 667100 J for glacial.
total 834540 J.
4.5 kilowatt hours = 16 200 000 joules
but the 834540 J takes 1/3 that in motor industry to move it to the room so 4/3's times to get needed and divide by oil-burning stove output
((834 540 * 4) / 3) / 16 200 000 = 0.0686864198 hours
or 4.12118519 minutes

Why would an electric space heater cause a battery-operated toy 4 feet away to beep when the heater shuts off?
Dec 04, 2007 by aclark234 | Posted in Other - Electronics
We recently bought an electrifying space heater that is controlled by room temperature. When it reaches the desired temperature, it shuts itself off. We ultimately noticed that each time it does this now, we hear 2 beeps. After immense investigation, we found it was one of our children's toys is the thing that's beeping.
The oven plugs into the wall, but the toy is battery operated. They are about 4 feet to another place from each other and the batteries in the toy have been nearly dead for quite some time. The toy doesn't randomly toot and there's no question that it's due to the heater turning off.
Why in the world would this occur and, more importantly, is it a volunteer that there is something wrong with the electrical system in the house?
It's called ghetto-blaster interference.
When the heater stops it is producing a large, abrupt, pulse of electromagnetic and/or electrostatic energy. The toy is apparently responsive to this.
It's not that unusual.
If it's like most heaters there's a simple bi-metal strip that you change tension against to set temperature. The heater just toggles on and off when a twitch contact opens and closes. At the moment such a switch opens or closes there is a passing moment of electrical arcing. Arcing creates a lot of tranny energy.
