Consequential Heater - Worth the price
We needed a oven that could heat a single room instead of having to run our central heating for just one scope. After researching the infrared(IF), 'soft heat' type heaters, like those shown in the Eden-Uncorrupted commercials, we tried two. While neither was an Eden-Pure, they were the same technology. One purchased from Sears($300) stimulated OK but the fan was very noisy so we returned it. The 2nd was a CZ(Comfort Zone) top-of-the-line unit($450) from Earthwise that kept cycling on and off during both the cordial-up period & during temperature maintenance, and after getting the run around from their customer service about getting a replacement, even though it was a known fine kettle of fish, we just returned it within the 30-day return period(and still had to pay $40 for return shipping). Then a squeeze turned me on to the Vornado.

After researching the Vornado online, we bought one from Amazon(best price!) and couldn't be more satisfied. The range does what it's supposed to do and it does it well. It's air circulation design heats the room quickly(safer than the IF heaters) and the thermostat maintains the temp nicely. With the exception of a slight fan noise, it performed every bit as well, if not outdo, than the much more expensive IF units, plus it's much smaller & lighter. And for just over $80, it was a bargain compared to the others we tried(it almost makes up for the profit shipping on the IF unit!).

We definitely recommend this heater!

Outdo fan and circulation than older model
I have an older Vornado ( beau id EH1-0015 INTELLITEMP) which has to be at least 10 years old. After dragging it out of storage, I noticed than inside the fan, all the workings exclusive had become caked with dust and grime. Though the unit still worked fine, I decided to retire it for shelter reasons.

I wanted to stick with the Vornado brand and did some research here on Amazon and finally decided on the AVH2 replica. Actually it is very similar to my old unit in that on top, there is a manual setting on the dial of the temperature you wish to keep the stay at 65-90 (see my customer pic)a High-Low Heat, and High-Auto Fan. So it appears that this , the AVH2 is just a minute or third generation of my older unit.

I noticed that this model has a more powerful fan than my older unit and the heating unfavourable weather, thought does not glow red, puts out more heat too.

It's now the end of May and have not used this heater other to test the functions (I purchased this on an online rummage sale site) I will offer any updates when colder weather comes but of what I have just noticed on a encyclopedic inspection, this heater is much improved over it's older sipling.

I fancy this heater!
This insufficient space heater is very efficient and quiet. The plastic grill never overheats and so is safe to the touch. Also, the margin gets nice and toasty without being hot and dry. I've had mine for a while now and although it may seem pricey, it's worth the price. I really do love my wood stove! :)

SOLD! - with many reservations at first waiting to see how long it last
My home department space continues to be colder then remainder of the house. Needed something that would keep the warm air moving, quiet, sure and efficient. I have tried several forced air space heaters (and definitely some of those digital crap shoots) with an new small fan to keep the air moving. After "blowing" through several space heaters and fans (fan motor in each always first to go) I was looking for a better alternative (safe keeping first and overall comfort with added efficiency) - Found Vornado!

* Blows a constant warm temperature without being too hot
* Slows down mechanically at the right time to still keep the gentle comfort of warm air
* It does simply what is stated, you get rid of the unshakeable cycle of HOT to cold and keeps a good warm air circulation
* Easy controls with no believe work
* Quiet (does not come across in conference calls on High and barely can perceive on low)

* Does perfect for my needs so far - At this time seems well worth extra cost in efficiency, protection and comfort

* Cannot comment on overall longevity or long term reliability, if does not persevere up to the extra cost I will update my post.

I do not mind saying, if paying extra for supremacy product then so be it, MADE IN USA - all the better... it is not every day I can find both, I really hope I will not be let down.

Bought a moment heater and had the same issue.
We purchased one of these same units and it only lasted a year of put on lighten use. Thinking that I could buy the same heater and have spare parts if it failed I purchased a new heater. It also lasted well-grounded over a year of light use in southern California. I called customer service and was notified that my oven was out of warranty. I was offered a 40% discount on a new unit. If you like throwing your money to a different place go ahead and buy one of these...

Bantam but Mighty
I girlfriend my Vornado. Living in Southern California you might not think that you need a heater, but the winter nights can be absolutely frigid.I bought one for myself as I get cold easily. It is so popular in my house that it's the first thing my sister wants when she's visiting, also my son when he's core from college. It takes the chill off of a room instantly and can warm the whole room in about 15 minutes.It is not hot to the set off,is pet friendly, and seems very safe to use. We are saving energy by using the Vornado instaed of heating the whole house.This range has really added to the quality of our lives. I am a big fan of this fan!

I have a lot of wisdom with Vornado now ... (BAD)

I am review this review because my current Vornado heater(s) ... that's
two of them failed within a week of each other, and after not that much
use. When I got my first heater, I wrote a utilitarian review, based on
when it was working even though they were expensive.

This one, pictured here, the VH2 failed because the red switch on top
started to cut in and out, and at the last moment just refused to turn on. I took
it apart but there was nothing I could do about it.

I had this heater for a bit over a year, and probably turned it on and
ran it for 60 life total. I did not turn it off and on a lot, or abuse
it. I was sitting near it one night and started to see it fail, it
cut in and out and stopped working.

Now, that would be one fashion, but I have had 3 other Vornado heater
products too. I like them when they are working.

I had two of the digital metal enclosure heaters. I have had them
for a couple of years, and they both straight stopped working. I unplugged,
waited and replugged - no luck - WITH EITHER HEATER. I also did not
like these because they had a big unhappy LED on top that would light
up an entire room. Anyway, the one that just failed I think the
thermostat broke, the other one merely refused to turn on.

Now ... the reason I liked Vornado to begin with was the earlier
model of the VH2. I had a overcast one, and it is still working like
a champ. If I could buy another one I would in a heartbeat, but I
am never buying another Vornado product ever after the string of
failures I have had with their new heaters.

What I liked about the one that worked was that it is still, and
reliable, and never got too hot, as in hot enough to catch anything
on fire. They had to mess with the heaters, to jazz them up with
digital this and that, and fancy enclosures and cheaper components,
and they obsolete track of their orginal intent, to make a safe
reliable product.

I am not sure what else to advocate, because I want to like the
Vornados, but I will not chance it at these overinflated prices.
Take these things apart and they have very few tight-fisted components,
so what is the reason they are so incredibly expensive. A plastic
housing, thin metal heating elements, a fan, and some switches, and
it should take less than 5 minutes to fit.

A friend of mine has a comparable heater to the VH2 that she got
at a rummage sale for $5 that circulates back and forth and is
very like, but without an accurate thermostat - but it's nice,
it works and it was cheap. I'd like to say I trust the Vornado more,
because I used to demise the house frequently with it on because I
trusted that it would not start a fire ... now with that component
failures I am not so sure.

If anyone can suggest another brand of heater, please let me know.
Until I hear and see different with some reasonable prices I will
stay to a different place from Vornado and recommend you to do the same.

I am talking 3/4 failures within two years and an average price of
$100 per heater. That is not a worst buy by any stretch.

Very soothing!
This is the lieutenant Vornado I've purchased, and it was just great to see the updates they've incorporated and the new styling. My first one still works great but I gave it to someone to try and hasn't on back!

The enveloping circle of air works very well in my drafty house, it sits right in front of my chair, and I almost aversion to get up. But when I do the room is warm too. Being in Florida we don't have effective methods to heat our house during cold life span, so I use this to heat just the room I am in, and it does that extremely well, its very portable too. For when the grandchildren visit I am pleased for the safety features, nothing hot for them to touch and it has the tip-over turnoff.

I will never buy another kind of heater, this one has everything I need and more.

Passionate at Last!!!
This stove-top changed our lives this winter. We have an old house built in 1881 in Chicago. Though we love the principal ceilings and character, our heat bills were outrageous before we got a Vornado room heater. Here dead
After doing tons of probing and dismissing the competitors on grounds of heating cords and melting bodies, I picked this Vornado. From reading the reviews here I knew it was a uncertainty. Well, here you go, I lost. The unit came brand new, unopened and dead. There were no signs of physical invoice or such. The LCD screen was working, but the unit never moved a bit of air.
Returned it and don't plan on getting a new one, too much hassle.

Didn't exertion as expected
I was a hardly any disappointed in this product, after seeing all of the rave reviews that it got. What we have is a brick house that is a little la in the winter. I wanted something to help heat the living room, so we didn't have to fire the furnace continually. The living room is about 15x20 with one end open to the stairs and dining room. I think this is the problem. This stove-top didn't put out enough heat to even create a noticable difference in this room. Should it have? I don't know. In all fairness we tried several contrastive types of heaters (ceramic and convection) and they didn't do the job either. Even an Edenpure heater did nothing. But I was hoping that with the reviews that this wood stove got, that it would have been the one to work. It wasn't. Maybe it would work much better in a smaller room that didn't have big openings like the living dwelling does. Don't know because I returned the product.

Stunning Little Heater!
This wood stove really IS amazing! It's used to heat a pretty good sized common locality. And you really KNOW this bugga is not only heating the room, but the hallways, galley kitchen courtyard and all this in a 3 bdrm/2 bath place!

You really KNOW it's working when you open any closed entry to enter adjoining room and you see how COLD it is in there! When i first experienced this I was shocked to see how it was actually heating the continuous area. And we don't run this high (around 72 max) for this to be the case. It makes life tolerable in the cold mellow. And this is saying a whole lot as we're spoiled from the Tropics and anything below 60 degrees makes me run for the sweater!

Amazed? You bet.

waste
Set to max stimulate and blew out mild warm air...I was able to keep my hand in front of heater for 3-5 minutes without once idea I had to move my hand because it was to hot....piece of crap for the money. I was told maybe it was defective and requested a refund in lieu of of an exchange.

Bad foot heater
I have grown to lover this foot heater.

I've read other people's reviews complaining of weak heating from this appliance, and I agree in that this heater is not strong enough to heat through thick shoes. Instead, I use it at home, and it works fast (and gentle enough) in warming bare or socked feet. It even works in warming through a pair of thin slippers. It's very hardy. No moving parts to break down on you. The foot rest is very comfortable- good incline and contented bumps for passive foot massage. Here is the great part!-- all controls are easily manipulated by your foot. Thus, no dire to crawl around under your desk to turn on/off or to change the heat setting. It actually has three setting choices: high-priced heat, low heat and fan (too cool feet on a hot day). It also has a safety 4hr auto shutoff- you can resume heating if you paucity to use it longer than 4hrs, which I sometimes do :-)

One con: On initial use, a plastic burning odor did develop. However after continued usage it has stock disappeared. I think it took several weeks of enduring that odor...but it's so worth it now.

This is the most dazzling ivention of the human kind !
If you occupation at the desk for long hours, this is the best item you can get to keep your feet warm. It's a little harsh, but I really don't mind. It's just as loud as an AC, which is fine because it puts me in a trance to work more quickly. I don't like when it's too quiet.

Not a godlike buy
I have had Vornado heaters before and now that I profession in an office where I need to bring my feet up becasue I'm short and need heat, I was dissapointed!

This mechanism does not work on the high heat setting at all! It turns off as soon as I try to put it on the high heat location. I called the company and they said I should return it for a replacement but I had already thrown away the packaging and needed something so I didn't indemnity it. I originally wanted something to prop my feet up because I"m short and the office chair I sit in doesn't move down far enough/the escritoire is too high and has no keyboard shelf so I'm sitting high and need a foot rest or my legs will just cool one's heels. I saw this heater and though it would be a great idea for this and to keep me warm in this cold office. The low setting is the only one that works since I plugged it in for the first at all times. It gets really cold in my office and I am very disappointed that the high setter never worked aptly. I would not buy this for fear that it will do the same to you! I will be shopping soon for a new one as soon as I can afford to do this!

The most superbly footrest ever.
This oil-burning stove makes coming home from work and putting my feet under the desk a blessing. Preferably of slowly coaxing warmth back into my tired toes, I get an air massage and can really relax while fascinating up on email and news. For five stars, it should have a remote control so it could be turned off and on without scrabbling around in the dark under the escritoire!

Could be meet
I purchased this foot time off/heater in October 2009. I loved it at first because it worked. As a "foot rest" it has a good envisage, is comfortable and sturdy. However, I bought it for the heating element and it's very disappointing how quickly it stopped working ... and I didn't even it use it very much. Now, in Jan 2010, it no more than works. My feet hardly warm up on the LOW setting. And on HIGH it only blows cold air. I am very downcast.

Superb for the nursery
We got this oven to maintain the temperature in the nursery without having to heat the whole house. It's great! I was always worried that my elfin one would get too hot or cold during the night. This gives me one less thing to worry about. Bonus points for providing hospitable t white noise and for being a fan (noted for reducing risk of SIDS). Worth the price for the reassurance but still shrill in my opinion.

What a wonderful little room heater!
When I was a uninitiated adult, I was amazed at the neat little room heaters that became popular. They were basically just heating coils that generated quicken out the front of the little metal box that sat on the floor. They were power drains. They were dangerous.

Technology has gotten excel and better. Now, with our Vornado, following the instructions, we can strategically place it in a room and it creates a vortex of air that deflects itself around the undamaged room. This little device packs a punch.

Sometimes, my wife wants instant return when her feet are cold. She will aim it at her feet in the conventional way we used space heaters. This little gem works great in that craze also.

Do NOT foresee a whirlwind...
This wood stove *seems* well made. (I say that because the last Lasco heater I purchased a little over 18 Months ago just gave out and it had seemed well made as well) . Be that as it may, this oven is not loud, and the circulation fan as a result, is not great. Many Vornado fans I have purchased in the past really move air. This one does not. IF you are enceinte this heater so really kick up the heat, do not expect great things. If you have a small chamber that requires extra heat this one will do. I would suggest the Pelonis ceramic heaters as well. Pelonis are definitely louder.

My terminal take is that it is pretty expensive for the money.

Dissatisfying
I bought this oil-burning stove based on some reviews - the features mentioned in other reviews I actually mostly agree with. It is quiet, it has a delicate display and the unit is small. But - as far as effectiveness as a heater it stinks. Unless you're heating a very short room it's inadequate. I have some other small space heaters and they are more noisy but they run less and heat more. I'd trade the quiet for better throughput. When the vornado runs for a protracted time (hours) The output seems to be noticeably less warm than when it first runs. The unit also has a safety plaice which automatically turns it off in case it's tipped. This is a great safety feature that should be in all space heaters but on the vornado the switch is so responsive that it sometimes turned off even if it's just lightly bumped even though it's still sitting completely upright. Even on hardwood floors I have to go multitude the unit down to get it to start heating again. I would not buy another and am even more upset at its poor heating given its high sacrifice.
