Holmes HFH442-UM Wood stove with ALCI Plug
This is a superb heater for my small bathroom. It has the ALCI plug for safety. However, the instruction manual says not to use in a bathroom or laundry stay. There is a more expensive heater with a clock and a timer that is called a bathroom heater. I can't see what the difference would be as desire as it has the safety plug. (I have no need for a heater with a clock and a timer.) I would buy it again, I have to have a oil-burning stove in the bathroom.

arrant little heater!
We have a melodious small bathroom on the third floor of our house, which is not heated at all, and I bought the heater to use in there when we take showers and whatnot. It has kept us toasty ardent this winter, which is great since it's single digit temps outside here at night.

We don't leave it on all the interval like other people do, just turn it on when we go up there into that room. The room warms up almost instantly! I like that it has a temperature rate, and it doesn't bother me that you have to keep pressing the button to "scroll" through the different temperature settings to upon it off. It's just pressing a button like, maybe 5 times. How hard is that? Excellent produce for the price (I paid just under 30 bucks).

I like it so much that I am thinking of buying a assist one for our larger bathroom downstairs, since other reviewers have said it works as well in larger rooms. That cell is not only larger, but has 2 giant windows that let in some terrible drafts, so it would be an excellent test of this little wood stove.

Does the job, but smells
First one I had to offer - when I turned it on it blew smoke.

I didn't want to get the same one, for obvious fire-averse reasons. But looking at all the heaters, this seems to be the only one that can amble on and off to keep a temperature.

And it does that. It's a little 'chunky' in that you need to choose from 5-degree increments (70 seems sniffles, 75 is hot!), but it does keep a pretty constant temperature. No idea if 70/75 is nice, but close enough.

The main problem is that we use it in an enclosed space, and it leaves behind a musty smell - almost like fervent but not quite. I figure that's any heater, and it's not bad, so we still use it.

Heats things up in no values bright and early!
I've had this wood stove for a couple of weeks now and it works great! It's still below freezing in the mornings where I live and we keep the heat off at ceaselessly to save energy. When I wake up, it's straight to the home office and I turn the unit on to Elaborate. It puts out so much heat that I'm all warmed up in no time. The oscillator works great, but I prefer to keep a girlfriend stream of air on me! The controls are very easy to use. I've heard of lots of heaters overheating and shutting off. This one hasn't done that at all! It's a first-rate little size to heat up a small room and the price is excellent! I would definitely obtain this unit again!

Pretty good Heater At Best
Works totally well but does not spread the heat very far and the themostat cuts off when the air very close to the unit is warm. For a big bathrrom, this unit is not powerful enough even when set on "high".

Surprisingly honest
We stay in the Northeast. The treadmill we use for exercise is located in a 10x10 corner of our unheated basement. We needed to add inflame in some way to make that area more comfortable during the winter months. This Holmes space heater has worked surprisingly well in accomplishing that. The built in thermostat is a exact feature, and it's not unusual for the it to shut itself down before a workout is completed. We'll likely buy another one as we get rid of more of our junk and open up other spaces down there.

terrific low cost heater
This brief and fairly quiet heater fills all my needs for heat in a small area. I use it in my task and bedroom to give me warmth where I need it most (my feet) as I watch TV or do computer tasks. It will heat a small apartment to a very comfortable level in a short time. It has alot of settings 60,65,70,75,and 80 degrees-I mainly just put it on high or low speed and let it run. It seems to be well made and looks quite modern. A great fan for the money.

Not that significant
I bought this stove-top after reading the reviews but after receiving it I realized it was not as good as everyone said, the first thing is that it is 1500 watts so it using alot of power for being such a shamed heater. The second thing is it only stays on for less than 5 minutes then shuts off due to it gets too hot and then you have to wait 1/2 hour for it to relaxed down before you can turn it on again. This was disappointing because now I have to get a different heater.

Grand small portable fan
I am using two of these to hot up our RV Trailer in cold weather. They are wonderful. The savings in propane is great. The nicest drawing card is the thermostatic control with fan speed control. This allows custom set up for your needs.

Good-hearted for the price
I've had it a span years now & it's helping me switch from oil to electric heating.

If I want to keep my living room at 65 it seems I neediness to set it for 70 so the gauge seems a bit off but it does the job.

Kind-hearted Product
It is a upstanding product, but only five temporary can be chosen. Sometimes it is very cold in my room, but the heater is not running even I adjust to 80 position. So, I have to click the button to keep it running without temporary setting. And then, I was woken up at night because it is too hot! Not very convenient.

Holmes HFH2986-U Undertone Quiet Power Heater
I friendship this product so much that we have three of them. It's powerful, safe, quiet and solid, all the qualities I looked for.

We have a 2100 sq ft. haven on three floors with no central heating only a gas fireplace in San Francisco. These space heaters are perfect for us and very cost effective. I purposely won't put central heating since it's really not necessary here. Our electric and gas bills have averaged $120/mo. so far this year. Also this gives us focused fury only where we need it.

Safety is also an important feature since we have an autistic child in the house.

holmes wood stove
This oil-burning stove was bought as a gift for my parents in FL. It is quiet and does help to heat their apt. Mother has raved about it ever since she received it. It was particularly timely, given Florida's cooler than normal weather this winter season.
It here quickly as ordered, and is lightweight and easy for my 79 yr old mother to move from area to area to serve keep my 82 yr old semi-invalid father warm. A reliable product that does what it is advertised to do.

My 3 yr old one works monstrous. The new one I got... not so great.
I purchased one of these heaters from a close by drug store about 3 years ago at a closeout price of $20. That heater is used for heating under a cubical escritoire in my office and is still working great. It's extremely quiet and a fantastic little heater. The worst part about it is the control. You have D through all the settings to get to the temperature you want and then turn it off. You have to push the button 10x each time you use the thing.

My leader wanted one for her desk because this unit is so quiet. (We had already tried several other types of heaters that were too hot, too loud, too big, too small, etc.) After searching foremost and low, I finally found one on Amazon. It worked great for the first 2 weeks and then we started having issues with the thermostat. It would unceasingly turn off no matter what temperature it was set at. We would set the thing for 80 degrees and it would shut off after 10 minutes and brace off of at least as long. There is no way it got to 80 degrees in the location we use this heater. For this reason we ended up sending the piece back to Amazon. I've got to say, the process was painless. Two thumbs up for Amazon's return policies.

We ended up getting a Vornado Vortex Range. It's very similar to this unit and we had a 20% off coupon at a local retailer. (Sorry Amazon, we needed it at.) Even with that, it was $25 more than the Holmes. The Vornado is slightly louder but it has better controls. Best part.. my boss is once happy and her legs and feet are warm.

Bottom line for the Holmes unit... If you get a good one, it truly is a fantastic heater. Unfortunately, it seems many of them are having thermostat issues. I don't know if Holmes had a bad batch or what. I took a predictability based on my previous experience despite the negative reviews I was reading. It didn't pay off this term...

Significant for heating a bedroom
The Holmes HFH2986-U is speak quiet, as advertised. I've tried several other heathers but the fans have all been too noisy for use in a sleeping area. I liked the nearer model a little more because it had a temperature dial to provide a more flexible temperature adjustment but it's no longer within reach. This new model certainly deserves four stars.

it is very still

when i had to supplant a cheaper older holmes space heater i had a choice of one for
15 dollars us vs this one for 30 plus dollars or about 40 with shipping because i
needed to tense close up the room asap. heck what's 20 bucks anymore? im glad i got this
one becaise it is so still that it doubles as a low level white noise generator that
muffles the hum of urban street transportation in a main road a block away but not of course
loud power tools like sheet blowers. late at night its the nbext best thing to whisper
quiet tech we'll have someday. the selling off is its a little less effective than the
same standard 1600 watts with a stronger louder fan. this is a nice peace way to take
the chill off winter nights in the sunbelt. if it were up north id get the least noisy
high speed fan and perchance two heaters to keep warm in freezing winters. if it were a permanent home it would be a no noise solar powered tech but huge for temporary housing.

its not a big deal about pressing the button 8 times to go from on to off to on again.
its just dumb that none of these fake settings sets a thermostat or perhaps i missed it
by not reading the directions? so it stays on all night but it hasnt broken so its
either too early or the low speed fan is under low tenseness and might last a year.

for my need for quiet warmth in a mild winter climate 5 stars. in usual 3-4 stars.

Upper crust portable heater I have ever owned
I purchased this range on the recommendation of my wife, who was using it while waitinf for a new furnace to be installed. And my wife said it keep two thickset rooms warm. I ordered it for myself, and WOW. This heater is worth the money. Even my dog loves it. It has quartz heating, and a fan to burn out vacillate out hot air. So it really heats a good size room very quickly. The heater starts heating right to another place, and the heat is going full blast in about 2 minutes. It works very efficiently, and I usually use it on the low setting. The wood stove is light weight and easy to move around. I will be purchasing another one, because it just works so well. At such an affordable price. This oil-burning stove can be summed up in just one simple word "awesome".

I intended this heater
I had one for years and it decisively went to heater heaven. I immediately googled "Patton", hoping they still made these. Lo and behold, I found it on Amazon.com. Retired it after 2 1/2 yrs
I acquainted with it mostly in the fall and winter time. It worked pretty well. The thing i like most was that it had a automatic cut off, if it ever gets knocked over. I have kids so that was a advantage. It heats up pretty quick it doesnt work well in large rooms, but it works more so in bedrooms. I drive at dont get me wrong itll heat an entire apartment (600sq ft.) but it wont be toasty virtuous warm enough. I had to retire mine cause the power cord broke off at the very base of the machine. Perchance from being bent to much, not sure. But a good heater. My next one i want it to be more powerful.
