Works
There are no enchanting bullets when it comes to filters for humidifiers. If you flip the filter every time you fill the tanks these filters will last longer. During the driest times of winter you can get about a month to month and a partially out of one of these. That is a lot from a filter. If you do not flip then you can cut the length in half. I am happy with these filters. To also help get the tank cleaners that run across two in a pack.

This thing was received on time, in new condition, and fits the model humidifier as specified.
You get what you pay for
The cheesecloth was priced fairly, and the box did say Honeywell (it wasn't a knock-off as some other reviews indicated it might be). I used the filter with a Pro-tec tape last winter and didn't change the filter once. In fact, I never even looked at it until it was time to set it up again this winter. That's when I realized it was charming moldy and I should buy a new one. I received the new filter on Dec. 22 - it didn't even last me a month!!!
The only thing I did differently this tempo around was TRY to take better care of the filter to extend its life...because the filter arrived before the protec tape (both of which I ordered on Amazon) I used a drop of bleach in the water tanks. The mist had a lighten odor, which didn't bother me, but my boyfriend was concerned about our newborn breathing in the chemical - so I retire from using bleach when the protect cartridge arrived. I also flipped the filter everyday, so the top part (which tended to dry out) stayed damp. Within a few days of the Protect cartridge and no bleach, the filter started to reek of mold and then it in truth began to fall apart. The filter was crumbling and stunk. I just threw it out and am back online to to the end that to again.
What have I learned: While my humidifier kicks butt and keeps the entire upstairs area wettish in the winter, the amount of time, energy and money I spend in filters and protect cartridges just doesn't be conducive to it worthwhile. I could buy three cheapo cool-mist humidifiers, with their itty bitty filters and wash them each once a week - and that's still less travail daily! ...not to mention a heck of a lot cheaper!
Brilliant Filter, where's the handle?
True-love this filter. If you follow the directions and fully soak/clean it at each fill-up it will work its best. It holds up to a lot of use. I use the protech videotape in my humidifier. I've had the Honeywell HCM-6012i for over a month now and have a 1400sqft house. This unit and filter do the swindle. The humidistat is kept at 55% and I refill it once a day. The filter is still going strong. Just a baby bit of the edges coming off, but I do soak it at every fill up.

No more shopping from Allergy Be Gone
The filters I received were BestAir HW500 (1 of 4 was in the unprecedented box). They have a metal shell versus plastic on the original Honeywell HAC504. I returned them and received another set of filters which were again the same filters(HW500) I hold. They had no original box and the shell was metal, which can easily scratch its housing and stimulate mold rise in humidifier.
It is also sad that I saw another review sent on October 2007 about similar problem(purchased as HAC504, received multifarious) for the same item purchased from Allergy Be Gone.

Honeywell Shambles
This goods works well, but it's just a bit confusing on which specific one to buy. I have an older discontinued model of humidifier and while I have no problems with using this dribble with it, just plugging in the model connects you with many filters and they all look the same, but the one that I purchased did not like the picture shown.
Again no problems with using it, neutral like to see a better way to find the right one.

supplier tainted item and shipped a brand X product
While I ordered or idea I ordered the Honeywell product I received some brand X product instead. The item received was not what I rumination I ordered or what I wanted. I did not try and return the item since that is always a hassle to do. I will not do business with this supplier again.

Honeywell Air Purifyer
I was unsure of this yield before purchasing because of the complaints about noise. However, I love this purifier. To me, the sound is like sleeping with a fan on at sunset and I like that. Even at it's highest setting the noise is there, but not distracting to me. I leave it running 24/7, unarmed the pre filter once a week and the main filter every couple of months. I live in an apartment with a enormous/medium sized black lab. This has significantly cut down on my dust and helped with pet dander. I eventually arrange on getting more for other rooms in my apartment. Because I do live with a dog, I do change the main filter a little more often than suggested. I lately pop the filter out and see how it looks. It's a great purchase for the money and size of unit. I would recommend to anyone with a smaller quarters or rooms.

Remarkable filter
I have been very glad with this air filter! Not only does it cost less than most air filters out there, but it also does an excellent job at removing unpleasant odors from the air. I can spin on my Honeywell machine and in 20 minutes, this filter has the air is smelling fresh and clean. Highly recommended!

This is the pre-eminent price I've found for this particular filter replacement (I think free shipping option does purloin a lot to save money!).
It actually WORKS. I have two indoor cats and it's a huge difference when I in actuality run the filter and when I don't. I'm not really allergic to cats or anything, but when they shed, their fur gets everywhere, and who wouldn't sneeze if cat/dog fur gets into your nose and divert or gets in your eyes? (A lot of people think they're ALLERGIC to some pets when they actually aren't, they're legitimate reacting to extra particles in the air, animal fur in the air's like having a string of dust in the air, which would worry ANYONE who wants to breathe in that air).
Anyway, it also works well against filtering dust mites. I do my best to keep the house absolutely confess and linens not touching the floor or anything ever (nothing that has been on the couch where my cats have been can enter my bedroom and nothing that touches the storey gets put back on couch or bed - they get washed in hot water immediately), I steam clean the carpet often enough and clean my cats in water before letting them loose on a clean carpet. But you simply cannot get rid of ALL dust mites when you have pets constant around and own a couch or two even if you use your furniture-cleaning option on couches or upholstery. I am indeed allergic to dustmites in actuality, not just sensitive to them...
But if you have this filter on for more than 24 hours, it's SO MUCH easier to breathe and also my nose doesn't persistently run and my eyes don't turn red all the time like when I don't run the filter.
Just be careful and not ruin your clean without even using it much: read instructions and take care of it so you don't let this filter just sit there and go bad on you.
This filter works well in a contrivance sized room I have, I think it works decently in a bigger size livingroom too, although it takes a lot longer and I have to have it on the highest power.
If you don't run the colander frequently and just let it sit there, though, it can go bad easily, and dust mites it traps can actually fester centre the filter with non-moving air. So read instruction before you complain how your "newly replaced and only used once" percolate made the air in your room worse. 'cause carbon can expire if you just let it sit there as well, and whatever it traps can gall inside if you don't use it for awhile.

This sieve(from honeywell) still shed lots of carbon (black) particulate, especially when you have to cut to trim to size. These are very excellent dust particles. Some of which i am sure clogged the HEPA.
I dont believed previous communiqu that said the Honeywell brand of pre-filter dont shed.

Don't buy Honeywell air products
I ordered pre-filters for my Honeywell standard 50100 air cleaner. What I received was one sheet of pre-filter material. The original pre-filters had scored marks so you could see where to cut. There were no scornful or cross-hatch lines either like all wall papers have. The instructions said that I had to quantity and cut my own filters out of this bulk piece. When I did cut the material, it shred at the cut points. The original material did not shred. I fancy that we have an inferior product along with a lack of customer consideration.
It's unfortunate that the Honeywell name is being purchased by Kaz, Inc. to market this fallout for them. I don't think that it's a product that Honeywell itself would produce.

I'm overjoyed with it, but understand that it is thin and on a weight basis, has very little carbon in it. So I wouldn't expect it to do much.

It says it only fits a (13X13) lodgings .. the room I want to use this for is a school classroom that is atleast 20X20. If i put this purifier in a bite i believe the air is at its worse, will it work for a 13X13 area from that point insolent or does this product become completely useless when its in a room any larger then (13X13).

I have an odd size of oven filter 16x20x4 (15.5x19.5x3.75) and I've been trying to find a good-hearted MERV 11 or MERV 12 replacement filter online. I can buy a 6 kitbag of MERV 11 (noname brand) for $60 and the same situate has a 3 pack of Honeywell MERV 11 for $60. Is the name really advantage double the money or is there something else I'm missing?
Yes, it is significance the extra cash. As with most things in life you get what you pay for. Although the no name is still better than a less thrifty filter. You'll be surprised how dirty the first filter you use will get somewhat abstinence. After the first the rest will last longer. The reason is fairly simple, smaller holes-smaller/more dust particles. It is a lot of rolling in it but if you can get 3-6 months out of one filter,depending on lifestyle, enumerate on family members, use of heat, etc. you'll get maybe three years out of this grip.That's $1.70 a month. Well worth it of you have any kids or pets.
