Close Impossible to AssembleThis is my B Hunter fan and I wish I had listened to other reviews who warned about the difficult assembly. I am incredibly handy and putting this fan together was insanely frustrating. The only fitting we did not give up is that returning the fan seemed even like more of a pain. As I said, this was my second purchase from Hunter, but it will be my last. The fan operates okay. It is nothing express.
Hunter Fan
Have Hunter greatest extent fans and needed two floor fans to move air in the Great Room and MB they are quiet on low setting and look great. Only dilemma is the ability to rotate did not last long before they started grinding would have thought this ability would lasted longer.
well made, substantial and loud
This fan was missing parts and I had to write to the manufacturer to get them. Moderate difficulty to put together. Very powerful, but with the power comes the noise. I also got the Deco Nothing Cambria Floor Fan which is much quieter, easy to put together but isn't quite as powerful. I highly recommend both fans.
Geat fan, Found it Easygoing to assemble
I don't recollect what the complaints are all about, the fan was easy to assemble and didn't need to look at the instructions at all. Moves a lot of air and very mild. The only think that I don't like about the fan is that the piece that you tighten to adjust the height of the fan is very cheap looking malleable. The rest of the fan is nice sturdy metal and right in the center of the fan is a cheap piece of sham.
A great fan for any decor and works wonderfully. If you can't figure out how to assemble it, ask your kids for help like you do when you poverty the clock on your microwave set.
superb aesthetics + quality craftsmanship... I am interested to see if the motor is as well built as the rest of the fan and
so the magnificent (but noisy) fan I had just died, beyond repair, and I purchased this one based on aesthetics & consumer reviews. another fan I looked at was $30 less, but this one received so many comments about how well made it was, I evident to go for it, and am glad so far that I did.
just upacking the box, you can tell this is a well made item. the heavy metal base (to be private discreetly under the nickel finished base cover) is where most of the weight comes in. the fan does paucity to be assembled, but it was a surprise to find the screws actually in fastened loosely where they ultimately need to go, in lieu of of in a bag you need to sort through. and I have to add that the screws are the high quality sort, complete with washers and built to tighten down (the last matter you want with a fan is any sort of rattling) and when tightened down they didn't fall apart under the screwdriver like other twopenny things I've assembled.
assembly wasn't hard, though I have to say I was a bit intimidated by the instruction booklet - hunter, notion of about redesigning this to be more user friendly! the booklet contains black and white photos which look more like the machine of a car than the assembly of a fan, and the individual parts are given long and complicated names which aren't useful unless you're up on fan engineering jargon. I ultimately used the manual to protect the floor from scratches, and assembled the id based on intuition - which was pretty easy, given that all the screws were already in place (and most only need to be loosened) and in preference to of dealing with a long electrical cord, it's broken up into segments with simple foul upright connectors - the engineering far outweighs the not so helpful instruction manual.
aesthetics are my main shtick with this product, and it exceeds my expectations. clean design, quality metal parts, fuzzy brushed satin finish. I'm picky about my furnishings, but this fan doesn't need to hide in a stall when guest come over.
extra bonus - the base is elevated slightly from the ground, so if the line is longer than what you need you can just tuck it under.
the grill around the fan is secured with a band of metal that clamps in one taint, vs. several clips that secure the grills together. slightly more difficult to open if you want to clean dust off it, but aesthetically looks much well-advised. I figure I will look at the fan every day, and clean it once every few months, so am more than happy with the trade off.
after plugging it in to test out - works no maladjusted. on the lowest speed setting it makes no noise at all. unbelievable! speeds two and three are increasingly louder, but this has to do with the air, there is not noise from the fan at all. I'll be using this in lieu of a ceiling fan near my bed, so the gentle breeze and zero noise of the low site exceeds expectations.
the knob that controls oscillation spins and seems loose, but this doesn't change how it works. I am slightly disappointed with the limited telescoping option - without measuring I'm guessing that the forefront of the fan can be adjusted to sit between 2 - 3 feet above the floor, but what makes up for that is the knobs that tighten down the tilt of the fan in actuality work extremely well and hold it securely in place (on my last fan I could never tighten enough, it always ended up pointing to the knock over).
beautiful aesthetics + quality craftsmanship... I am interested to see if the motor is as well built as the rest of the fan and yearning there is no need to buy another.
