Egregious looks, size, speed but high-pitched whir/whine
POSITIVES
Pleasure the color, relatively compact size, and fan speeds. Low is great for desktop or personal fan as extensive as it's not blowing right on papers. Oscillation makes a good sweep too.
CONS
Too overdone if you need this to fit under an overhead bin in an office cubicle. The machine also has a moderately-high pitched whir/whine that is louder than the safe of the air blowing. I returned the first one and the second one was quieter the first time I plugged it in, then just as noisy as the first one. I could agree the whir/whine from another room even on low speed. If your office is not super-quiet or you are not using this as unblemished noise it's still a great choice. Otherwise I'd keep looking.
Able Value for the $
I purchased this fan for m which is a large office space. The fan is quiet and is not distracting when in use on my desk. It does not affect my phone when it is in use either. I make use of the fact that it can be stationary or oscillate. I also get a lot of good compliments about my fan from coworkers.
Proper what I needed. Quiet and breezy.
I bought this to misplaced humble on my desk at work. The office tends to get too hot for my liking. The small footprint of this fan makes it precise for a desk. It can fit over in the corner and not take away room for other important things. I like the two speeds. The low fleetness is enough for me. I also like the oscillation. It makes a nice breeze in my office without blowing me over. It's also very quiet as to not perplex me or anything else.

Mediocre fan but not quiet
The air plethora is focused and not very powerful, but it's good enough to use for desk use. The problem is that the fan isn't quiet, even at the lowest setting. Also there is no timer, and there is no way to stuff this into an external timer because the switch is digital. Other than that it's a decent fan with a slim elegant design.

I needed a escritoire fan, then a next to couch fan, then a desk fan for at home, and then I fan for on my night stand. High quality, quiet. Could not be happier. Oh and the footprint and vertical prison loom design is what I was after. Takes up very little space. Good to have at work .

I am to death I got this fan, I almost got the one without the remote but found this one and got it instead. If you face it upwords and let it rowtate it feels as if the air is coming from all around the room. The veneer is very wide and the base is very suportive. Yes the face is plastic but you can take it off for cleaning if need be. If you don't punch around on the aspect it will last. Plus it won't rust. love how you can adjust the highth and easy to move from one room to another and realy careful if you want to take it from one place to another, it comes apart verry well so if you want to takke it camping you can easally take it at a distance to store it easally in your trunk or something. I love the remote and love the settings, I might not want to let it run threwout the shortcoming night and wake up to it being too cold or wake up to the fan on me. I love it and hope others do too.

lasko 1854 fan
i foist this fan had a lower speed. at low speed it is a bit to powerful. and i do not like the loud beep it has when you shut it off. other than that it seems threadlike.

Superior fan
This fan works marvellous in the gym. I keep the remote on the treadmill and can turn it on without having to miss a step.

Pleasure THIS FAN! Better than my expecations!
I'm very impressed with this fan. It's very attracting and looks much better than in this picture. I had no idea it would be this powerful. It's more like the $50-$60 fans that I purchased that were more urbanized stength. I wasn't quite sure at first if it would be too powerful on the lowest setting because I sleep with this fan on at twilight, but it is fine. I love that it has a remote and I can turn it on/off or adust the speed without getting up from my bed. I'm really impressed I've had it for a yoke of months and LOVE IT! There were few reviews on Amazon for this fan when I purchased it but checked Lowe's or Home Store and it had many reviews and most every one was good.

Not undeviating what to think??
I own 2 of these fans. The first one i purchased over a year ago. It can keep a area very cool and does not make much noise in the process. It has been knocked over countless times (my involved 2 yr old son) and still works fine. So i purchased another one for my girls bedroom and my son knocked it over once and it broke!!!! It is the same enforce fan sooo im very confused what the difference is. Next time I think I will buy a different brand but i am sticking with bell-tower style fans. The first fan I would rate 5 stars...it is still and excellent fan!!! The 2nd one I purchased I would rate a 2!
lasko 40" fleche fan
principled a heads up on this fan...........ours made noise almost immediately and the way to remedy this is to grease the bearings in the motor - you have to have unanimated knowledge to take care of this. nothing else will work!

This fan works well and hysteria in crammed corners. I LOVE the remote control on it. It's nice and quiet but puts out a incessant stream of air!

The Lasko 40-inch oscillating turret fan is an excellent buy for the money. It cools an 18' X 14' family room. The remote works vast and the timer comes in handy.

This is a gargantuan price for this fan. I've had it for a couple months now, and have had no problem whatsoever, though with light use. For a similar fan with remote, you would pay much more. All in all, very satisfied!

taking into account weight fan
This fan is a replacement for a 12 inch one which seemed to be well-advised built, weighed more and used metal rather than plastic; however it failed after several years of intermittent use. I have a Lasko humidifier which has been working well for 5 years. With very ungenerous intermittent use this new fan is working well. It requires minimal easy assembly which at first does not appear intuitively glaring. The only thing I can fault is that the fan construction appears flimsy as everything about it is plastic.

Seems burly
I bought this offshoot at Walmart (shame on me) for 19 dollars + tax, and even though it is a little plasticky, i simply put something under it that would absorb some vibration. Set upright now I have a silicone pad that does the job just fine. Just make sure you tighten everything on very vigorously before that top cover goes on, and you should be fine.

Expert! Quiet! Made in the U.S.A.!
I bought this fan a year ago thanks to the high-minded review by dontwannabeageek, who had the same basic criteria I did.
I wanted a fan primarily to use when I'm on the elliptical machine Schwinn 430 Elliptical Trainer, and also for use in the living allowance enabling me to use the A/C less frequently.
Pros: It's super quiet, even on high (and I'm pretty sensitive to charivari), moves enough air to keep me cool when exercising, it's easy to clean because the grille is removable, AND it's made in America. Yay! The drab color makes it unobtrusive, and blends in with any decor. It's also light weight, so it's easy to move around, yet very well-built. It oscillates and tilts up and down. It's exactly what I was looking for and has every feature I wanted.
Assembly Tips: The plain part that screws down over the fan blades to lock them in is tightened counter-clockwise, which is backward from the usual way. Tighten register just snug, don't over tighten. Also, when attaching the grille, it helps to have a flat head/opening type screwdriver to push the tabs in, and also for removing the grille for cleaning.
Note: The year before I had purchased the Honeywell HT800 Wonderful Turbo High Performance Fan, Black in white, and it was so noisy I couldn't stand it. I liking I had found the Lasko fan then!
Bottom Line: I love the fan so much, I bought a second one for the bedroom a few weeks later.
P.S. Usage Tip: I also got this early switch Super Switch Wireless Remote so I could set the fan across the room, and be able to turn it on and off from the bed. Not out of laziness, but if intermediary through the night you feel cold/hot, you don't have to rouse yourself out of bed, or disturb your partner. It would also be good for someone with mobility problems.

LOW Price BUT LOW VALUE
I purchased this fan to renew a fifteen year old Panasonic fan with failing bearings. The Lasko fan vibrates and is noisy. The fan actually bounces on the wire shelf it sits on. The molded fan dagger appears to be of poor quality. I would not buy another fan like this one. I am now replacing the bearings on the old fan instead.

This fan honestly blows!
We purchased one of this fans two years ago, still substantial as new. Then the long humid hot days of summer approached us here in Southern California during July-September 2009. We bought two more Lasko facsimile 4924 fans and had them delivered within a week, when you couldn't find a single fan anywhere to purchase. We now have three, one in each room and this units keep our for nothing cool as like having an air conditioner on. They are powerful and they last and for the price, just can't be beaten. These are storey stand height, no adjustments, and no remote control. But if you want to circulate the hot moist air out your room with a stream of cool blowing air and saving money on the air conditioner, THIS IS THE FAN! Very recommended without compromise. Thank You!

Warm-hearted fan but
It doesn't be bruited about fast enough for me. I only feel the cool air when it's blowing directly on me and if it does that it's almost too much. There is no happy medium for me with this fan. I like my holmes snowstorm little fan much better. I can feel the cool air. I think stand fans are also better than this one. Don't know if it had anything to do with my higher tenseness bill this month but I have been running this fan almost non-stop for the last month and my bill was about 80 dollars higher.
Lasko Maximum Velocity Oscillating Fan
The Lasko HV Oscillating Fan is a potent fan that gives a wonderful cooling effect over a wide area. We already have one in our camper and ordered this one for our 3-age porch which gets very hot in the summer afternoons. Nothing cools like this fan. Shipping was very prompt. Seattle recently set a CD for the hottest it's ever been here (104F). I don't have air conditioning and this thing is about all that kept me and my nine-month pregnant little woman sane. It followed us from room to room.
The only con I can think of is that it doesn't have any type of cord administration that I can find -- nothing to wrap the cord around when it's not in use.
