It poor after one month
I bought three of these for the bedrooms and one of them on one's beam-ends in a month, after minimal use. The other two are okay, a bit noisy though. What a pain to have to return this!

Looks punctilious, but loud
I would not recommened this fan. Perchance because it's made of a metal it vibrates while oscillating. For the price, I would have expected a quieter fan.
Don't Pretend 'Em The Way They Used To
Purchased locally in July 2004 and Euphemistic pre-owned seasonally since. Bought it for art-deco looks.
Low and medium speeds quiet enough. High shoot a bit noisy. Somewhat difficult to clean--stripped head on grill ring retainer make a muck-up of when removing it.
Worked well until this year when low speed ceased functioning and medium speed only worked if "primed" by starting on huge.
After introducing an intermittent metal-on-metal squeak, fan ceased entirely. Disassembled (not leisurely), cleaned, oiled (not required according to manual) and reassembled. High and low speeds restored, though dead speed produces squeak seemingly asking for more lubrication. Medium speed gone--shift damaged by my unauthorized meddling perhaps.
When I was young (I'm 66) my father had a large, noisy, torrential overweight metal oscillating table fan inherited from his father that never required any service that I recall and worked whenever it was switched on.
On the whole, I'm satisfied and may buy another when this conks out fully. Do not expect you are purchasing a future heirloom.

Marvy Fan
Very forceful and sturdy , also the color that I wanted.
Well worth the cost.
Retro Fan
This Fan is Bonny and Works Flawlessly! I own the brushed nickle but it available in a wide
variety of finishes and the bounty with go up (for chrome polished) or down for a painted finish,
I found this fan at HOME DEPOT for under 40!!! I bought two since Walmart was charging $100 for the punctilious
fan. It shipped in days via FedEx and was in perfect condition.
Because its all metal and solidly built, it is heavier and sometimes the blades ramble when powering down. This
is normal! I've owned metal fans before and this design is called the Century for a reason. It is
a print design from the twenties/thirties.
Buy this fan first the style! It is a thing of beauty and catches the light in the abide. The slider switch
is a thing of ease since its so simple to use and adjust speeds of the fan right where you necessary a switch.
If your a sound neurotic who can't stand any vibration noise, than you probably should buy this or any tabletop
fan. I weakness people complaining that this fan is noisy since this fan's popularity is about the LOOKS!!! It is
as quiet as any other fan I have owned. Vibration and arrangement with determine noise.
I highly recommend this fan!

First-class choice
Now I remember where to get a well built, good looking fan, for a good price. I have two for now. Thank you, "Hunter"!
Greatest fan I have ever bought
Gentlemanly heavy duty fan. This fan is really the best fan I have ever bought. It works as well as any other fan but the difference is that it is constructed unreservedly well with metal parts throughout. I have had cheaper fans fall and break apart because of the plastic build. This will not find with this fan. The fan works with the expected noise level; not whisper quiet but not very loud either. The looks of the fan are retro, you can portray this fan in the tv show madmen being used as a prop. Great fan, looks great, does it's job, and constructed incredibly well.

Not quite Impossible to Assemble
This is my second Hunter fan and I yearn I had listened to other reviews who warned about the difficult assembly. I am incredibly handy and putting this fan together was insanely frustrating. The only convince we did not give up is that returning the fan seemed even like more of a pain. As I said, this was my second purchase from Hunter, but it will be my last. The fan operates okay. It is nothing major.

Hunter Fan
Have Hunter most fans and needed two floor fans to move air in the Great Room and MB they are quiet on low setting and look great. Only complication is the ability to rotate did not last long before they started grinding would have thought this ability would lasted longer.
well made, vigorous and loud
This fan was missing parts and I had to association the manufacturer to get them. Moderate difficulty to put together. Very powerful, but with the power comes the noise. I also got the Deco Simple job Cambria Floor Fan which is much quieter, easy to put together but isn't quite as powerful. I highly recommend both fans.

Geat fan, Found it Nonchalantly to assemble
I don't grasp what the complaints are all about, the fan was easy to assemble and didn't need to look at the instructions at all. Moves a lot of air and very peace of mind. The only think that I don't like about the fan is that the piece that you tighten to adjust the height of the fan is very cheap looking compliant. The rest of the fan is nice sturdy metal and right in the center of the fan is a cheap piece of chintzy.
A great fan for any decor and works wonderfully. If you can't figure out how to assemble it, ask your kids for help like you do when you desperate straits the clock on your microwave set.
handsome aesthetics + quality craftsmanship... I am interested to see if the motor is as well built as the rest of the fan and
so the exquisite (but noisy) fan I had just died, beyond repair, and I purchased this one based on aesthetics & consumer reviews. another fan I looked at was $30 less, but this one received so many comments about how well made it was, I unhesitating to go for it, and am glad so far that I did.
just upacking the box, you can tell this is a well made item. the heavy metal base (to be obscured discreetly under the nickel finished base cover) is where most of the weight comes in. the fan does need to be assembled, but it was a strike to find the screws actually in fastened loosely where they ultimately need to go, instead of in a bag you need to set through. and I have to add that the screws are the high quality sort, complete with washers and built to tighten down (the last fad you want with a fan is any sort of rattling) and when tightened down they didn't fall apart under the screwdriver like other poor things I've assembled.
assembly wasn't hard, though I have to say I was a bit intimidated by the instruction booklet - hunter, over about redesigning this to be more user friendly! the booklet contains black and white photos which look more like the appliance of a car than the assembly of a fan, and the individual parts are given long and complicated names which aren't constructive unless you're up on fan engineering jargon. I ultimately used the manual to protect the floor from scratches, and assembled the fashion based on intuition - which was pretty easy, given that all the screws were already in place (and most only need to be loosened) and as a substitute for of dealing with a long electrical cord, it's broken up into segments with simple foul bear connectors - the engineering far outweighs the not so helpful instruction manual.
aesthetics are my main interest with this product, and it exceeds my expectations. clean design, quality metal parts, unmanly brushed satin finish. I'm picky about my furnishings, but this fan doesn't need to hide in a cubicle when guest come over.
extra bonus - the base is elevated slightly from the ground, so if the string is longer than what you need you can just tuck it under.
the grill around the fan is secured with a band of metal that clamps in one catch sight of, vs. several clips that secure the grills together. slightly more difficult to open if you want to clean dust off it, but aesthetically looks much more safely a improved. I figure I will look at the fan every day, and clean it once every few months, so am more than happy with the trade off.
after plugging it in to test out - works no dilemma. on the lowest speed setting it makes no noise at all. unbelievable! speeds two and three are increasingly louder, but this has to do with the air, there is not babble from the fan at all. I'll be using this in lieu of a ceiling fan near my bed, so the gentle breeze and zero noise of the low placement exceeds expectations.
the knob that controls oscillation spins and seems loose, but this doesn't transform how it works. I am slightly disappointed with the limited telescoping option - without measuring I'm guessing that the forefront of the fan can be adjusted to sit between 2 - 3 feet above the floor, but what makes up for that is the knobs that tighten down the tilt of the fan in truth work extremely well and hold it securely in place (on my last fan I could never tighten enough, it always ended up pointing to the minimum).
beautiful aesthetics + quality craftsmanship... I am interested to see if the motor is as well built as the catch of the fan and hope there is no need to buy another.

VERY Tumultuous FAN!!
The Hunter 91012 Millennium Oscillating Fan is a very pretty product, but NOT QUIET as stated. It sounds like a jet plane taking off! Even on the lowest step on the gas it is incredibly noisy, the higher speeds are intolerable! We were very disappointed and returned the fan.
I'm on top of the world
I was uneasy a bit about how loud everyone said the fan was on the lowest setting, and honestly, I can't dispute their claims. Fortunately for me, I'm one of those population that doesn't care. I have mine osculating right at the foot of my bed, leave it on all night on low, and it doesn't upset me one bit. The lowest setting is plenty strong enough to keep me cool and keep the air moving.
The construction is strong, well-made, and looks great in my bedroom.
As a bonus, my cat loves to plop down right in front of it to cool off, so simply the sound and vibration doesn't bother him either. The spacing of the fan's grates is tight enough to keep his curious pot little paws safe too when he's tried to reach in and touch the spinning blades... ignoramus kitty!

Hunter 10" Millenium Fan
neat fan, good size, but there are some downsides, 1 the geniuses at hunter forgot to oil the front bearing so it makes a good screach when it runs, but im sure i got one that slipped by, and 2 yes its kinda loud but doesnt move a ton of air, all in all i might recommend it to someone
smashing, but too fast and loud
I was hoping this smaller sized Hunter tabletop fan would be quieter than some of the reviews for the 12", so I took a certainty and ordered it. It's definitely beautiful, built like a tank, and adds to the decor. But even the lowest placement feels like a wind tunnel! The noise is too loud, even from across the room, to sleep. There is very petite difference between settings 1, 2 and 3 - all are far too fast. Disappointed, because it is a lovely design.

chillin
I'm very over the moon with this fan. It is quiet but very powerful. Even on low it does a great job. It has a good appearance and is sturdy with a rubber bottom to keep it from heart-rending. The only thing that could be better is that if you put it up high, you cant't aim down very far. But, that would not let that stop me from purchasing this fan again.
A-OK Old Fashioned Quality
This is a descry on replica of the high quality fan your Uncle Jake had oscillating in his candy store for twenty years without a hoick. The workmanship is awesome. This is one strongly built motha. I plan on taking it to my grave.

The Hunter 90042 fan gets 5 stars for styling. It’s comely. It is also a very trim fan. It has a oust iron cheap charger majority (ultra-permanent and zero wobble) and moderately a few pieces for the circle. Group was very mild (regardless what the nut-jobs title), excepting for unprejudiced one viewpoint: I had a ogre of a convenience life getting the nickle ground cover to piece of yarn on over the iron cheap plate on both fans and the replacement fan.
