Honeywell Replacement Screen
Indoors in a timely manner. Price was good. Looked everywhere for a filter for our humidifer. Checked out Amazon.com and found this. Works vast, would buy again.
basic service
I ordered the go downhill filter, but they refunded my money and paid for return shipping.
Honeywell humidifier sift.
Extraordinary product and excellent service. Only complaint is expensive shipping, with no discount for multiple contemporaneous purchases.
Way of life cycle Use Characteristics
A musical good humidifier pad that can be washed, to reduce hardwater buildup, and reused several times. However the affix joint weakens and disolves in hot water used to refurbish the filter. Be careful while washing for reuse.
Decisively found the filter cheap!
I didn't be that I needed to look online for these filters since I bought my humidifier at a store. After months of present to the store and then forgetting about needing new filters I finally looked up the information online. I was happy to find out that not only was amazon one of the cheapest retailers to get these but I also qualified for free shipping since I just went before and ordered 3 at once! These are even upgraded from the original so I am happy with my purchase.

No more shopping from Allergy Be Gone
The filters I received were BestAir HW500 (1 of 4 was in the initial box). They have a metal shell versus plastic on the original Honeywell HAC504. I returned them and received another set of filters which were again the same filters(HW500) I imagine. They had no original box and the shell was metal, which can easily scratch its housing and stimulate mold crop in humidifier.
It is also sad that I saw another review sent on October 2007 about similar problem(purchased as HAC504, received special) for the same item purchased from Allergy Be Gone.
Honeywell Muddle
This issue works well, but it's just a bit confusing on which specific one to buy. I have an older discontinued model of humidifier and while I have no problems with using this strainer with it, just plugging in the model connects you with many filters and they all look the same, but the one that I purchased did not like the embodiment shown.

Again no problems with using it, just like to see a better way to find the right one.
Honeywell HAC504 Replacement Humidifier Percolate
The dyed in the wool price and the right filter for my machine. Shipped in good time.
humidifier dribble
This was certainly what we had been using. It just wasn't available here anymore. Works great
supplier misused item and shipped a brand X product
While I ordered or mentation I ordered the Honeywell product I received some brand X product instead. The item received was not what I consideration I ordered or what I wanted. I did not try and return the item since that is always a hassle to do. I will not do business with this supplier again.
Always made sure what you are getting is what you assume you are ordering
It was changed by the supplier.

Customer Reviews

Works well
I use this humidifier in a under age office at work, and have a second for home, but use it only in the bedroom. In my location, it is insufficient for a larger break. However, that would depend on your starting humidity levels. I have found it to be very difficult to raise the humidity to a comfortable floor in a large space where the humidity levels start below 20%.

By the way, those wondering why someone would want to humidify in the midst of summer, come visit us here in New Mexico in June! If I can get a humidity reading above 20% I'm doing well! However, I don't advisable the cool mist humidifiers, they leave white dust. Also, the ones that rely on evaporation with a rotund fan work well but are loud. This warm steam humidifier is pleasant, it's just not enough to do a whole house in a dry breadth.
lung ailments
i bought this outcome for my uncle he has a lot of lung problems from working in the coal mines in west virginia he gets bizarre cases of bhronchitis 3 out of the four seasons he says that this machine has kept his out of the hosp more than once works extremly well
It works
I've had a few humidifies over the years. Most simpler and easier and a bit easier to unsullied. None that HAD to be cleaned every few weeks like this one. It develops a smell if not cleaned, as others have noted, it builds up deposits, and the pads get wretched FAST. I have to think to some extent the industry has moved to this design, using disposable pads to keep units make a clean breast just to sell you more stuff all the time. Otherwise you'd buy a humidifier once every 10 yrs, where's the profit in that?

At any rate, it does trade. If you set the humidistat all the way up it can run the tank out in less than 12 hours sometimes. By far the majority of the time the tank only needed filler daily, in a 20 x 25 room, heated to about 68 in the winter. Clean it, and it'll keep you pleased as Punch. Wish I could still get the old model though.
Bought 2 of them and we sweet them
Had a honeywell unabashed air humidfier before. Our hard water keept killing the wicks and the growth in the wicks meant we had to vary them out alot. Because they are not cheep it get's expenive fast to keep it running. Now I clean the unit's about once a week with vinigar and a dye and everytihng is good. love them!
If only it can help a higher humidity level ...
I bought this humidifier from Amazon after a in point of fact extensive research exercise. I can't remember how many websites/forums I've visited ... I've looked at brands like Air-O-Swiss, Bionaire, Vicks & plainly Honeywell; what I'm looking for is a unit that doesn't require filter change, quiet operation, avail enough for a bachelor (<600 sq-ft)and hopefully last reasonably long. I've been through 3 humidifiers already in the past 3 years: an ultrasonic one (can't remember the brand name, not 1 of those 4 aforementioned) that ceased to work after just over a year with white deposit gumming up the vibrating plate, a Vicks boiler type that ceased to work after a few months when it started to output no mist but burnt smell, & a Honeywell fan-blowing cool-mist HCM-890 which is louder than an industrial blower. I'm sick & tired of constantly needing to find a better humidifier so you won't believe how much I struggled before I committed on this HWM450 of Honeywell.

So I've been using it for a couple of months now. The 1 thing that I can say about the unit is ... an ok product. The non-specific user comments on Amazon about this product are by-and-large accurate - quiet machine, above common water capacity storage, lots of maintenance work required, not really sturdy moisture output etc. Even though it's a boiler, it's somewhat quieter than my previous Vicks, but with 3 gallons there're not too many other options that can rival its tank power. But tank capacity is 1 thing, humidity level achievable is another - isn't that what humidifier is for afterall? According to the increase-in display, the unit can raise the humidity of my bachelor to 40% only, regardless of whether I set the target to 40% or higher, & varying the 3 power levels won't matter at all. In fact only the middle level can constantly reach 40% whereas the humble & high are touch-&-go. For comparison, my noisy HCM890 can easily push the humidity to beyond 55%. I reside in Toronto, & being in a condo with forced air humidity is constantly below 20%, so I guess 40% is bettor than 20%! It also takes a long time to go up to 40% as well - I'd say > 2 hrs than plateau & couldn't go any higher until emptying the tank. & to be rosy a full tank will keep the humidity at 40% or just below throughout the entire night & beyond, even at the high power horizontal. We have hard water from our taps, so deposit appears on the heating plate even after the 1st time I in use accustomed to it. But thanks to the other users' suggestion on this forum, white vinegar cleans up the deposit very with no, & I found that cleaning every week after daily usage is more than enough. 1 more bone to pick possibly is the tank cap, not sure why but I have trouble lining up the threads everytime I try to tightly it up, & whatever I do still feels like the cap is kinked, but everytime the tank frenzy properly back to the base & doesn't seem to leak, so I guess it's just a poor molding of the threads on my component.

I paid $65 including everything for this, can't really say it's a great deal but it's the best deal I could find by the in good time always. Certainly I was expecting a not-so-cheap humidifier to lift humidity level higher than it does, but I'm not conscious of any alternative that has all its pros without its cons. So I can't say I regret buying it - especially if it lasts longer than any of my anterior ones. But it's certainly a case of can be better.

    Yeast!!! MOLD!!! MOLD!!!
This is a prosaic, idiotic design shared by all Honeywell CoolMoisture products. The fan sucks humid air through the fan turbine and the parts of the clique that are not accessible for cleaning. In a couple of months of use mold grows all over the inside, including the fan turbine blades. De-molding it is as good as impossible. So, great, now instead of breathing dry clean air you breathe moist air with mold spores.

I at best cant figure out why the designers did not reverse the air flow, so that humid air goes through fewer parts so that when yeast grows you can clean in easily.
    very complimentary buy
very dormant, no problem sleeping with it on, given it is on the night quiet setting, living in a desert clime with pretty much no humidity, it helped my dry itchy eyes in the morning tremendously. Only reason I wouldn't give it 5 stars is to top off the tank with more water you need a lot of strength in your hands to open the tank, since you have to break the vacuum seal, that is been created while in use. Little weaker hands might have a problem with this.

    Relish the humidity control
I like the act that I can set a humidity control on this one. It's very quiet and easy to use.
Still but need to refill the tank quite often
This humidifier works well. It's very mild but we need to refill the tank at least once or twice a day and the filter needs to be changed almost every month (and it's $12).
    Works as Expected
It was laborious to select my first humidifier after reading all the good/bad reviews on various models. I picked Honeywell after doing explore online and speaking to friends.

PROS: Great for occasional use so I don't really have to refill it much. I only use it for sleeping and embrace the low fan speed which really is quiet. Sturdy and simple design. Price. I didn't privation to spend more than $50-60. Protek balls are inexpensive and don't rack up the bill if you use the humidifier less frequently. I esteem the smaller water tank as it's easier to carry when it's full. Easy to clean.

CONS: Humidstat doesn't vocation well in the bedrooms. The humidifier rarely shuts off when a lower setting is selected. Need to buy a hygrometer to validation humidity level. I empty out the whole unit when it's not in use. It's very easy to spill water out of the base when you pick it up. Destitution to be careful that the water tank is sealed properly before usage and that you don't drop it!

    Valuable Product
Very contented with this purchase. Ours is very quiet, not sure why the one gentlemen found it to be noisy. It does a very good job and what we needed in the abandon area in Fernley, NV. Easy to fill and operate. If looking for assistance with dryness in your home, while it may not go all over one's dwelling-place, it does cover fairly well and has made a big difference in not awaking with dry mouth, and now that I know first hand, how prejudicial dry mouth can be in forming decay in one's teeth/mouth area, feel this has helped too. Auspicious that we chose this product and placed our order with Amazon.com, we feel fortunate that they stock grade brands, good prices and if you require assistance, there is someone to help.
righteous if you want to raise room humidity level FAST
If you scantiness to raise room humidity level by 20 points in 10 minutes in a strapping room, this is the weapon of choice.

For other purpose it is too bulky, too noisy, and too brutal.

I used it for a accommodation where for some strange reasons the return air duct constantly sucked away humidity and no other humidifiers could keep against the draft. Once I filled up the tanks and switched on this mean machine, I was humidifying the the whole area even beyond the area in no time.

With the help of several air circulator you can easily humidify the whole house with this machine.
    Works Terrific
I have been using this humidifier for about 4 weeks now & it does a outstanding job. I live out in the desert and it is hot & dry resulting in dry sinuses for us & snarfing for our dogs. It has improved both conditions very well. I did buy a humidy subpoena so I could keep an accurate reading of the levels in our house and adjust the output as I needed. I have noticed way less lonely dust in the house with the "air washing" & I see it on the filter. I am not having to oil all of our rustic mexican wood equipment as often either. With the Pro Tech Cartridges I just rinse out the trough, no hard cleaning yet. With two tanks it is unexacting to fill and the just set nicely in my sink. If you turn the curved side towards your faucet they stand right up on the capture handles, no big deal. In a normal setting a 24 hour run time may be accurate. In the go over the hill payment however, at 105+ degrees I fill both tanks 3 times for a 24 run. Once I got the humidity up in our home I now run 24 hrs on the lowest mise en scene with a medium fan and it maintains us at a good humidity level. I find it quiet and much less obnoxious then a fan running. I unqualifiedly like this unit.
    Seems to industry well!
I have long-lasting vasomotor rhinitis, which basically means I'm stuck with the symptoms of allergies triggered by irrefutable things and cannot be treated. :( In any case, during certain times of the year, when the air is more dry or when there's more pollen I have issues with overcapacity. And sometimes I'll wake up with a dry through and sinuses full of phlegm. When I get sick, it's also no fun at all in terms of congestion. I ended up buying this component and it does a decent job humidifying the air. It lasts a good 2-3 nights on the lowest mise en scene so I don't have to refill all the time. Refilling it is a pain and I'm scared one of the handles is going to bust off. But this hasn't happened yet. One sentiment I'm still confused about is the auto-off functionality. The unit is supposed to turn off after the air has reached a certain humidity be upfront with, but it seems inaccurate at best. Maybe I end up sleeping through it but it seems like the unit continuously runs all Stygian. I guess since there's still a lot of water left though, I can assume that it actually did turn off at the right time/humidity on the up. In either case, it's been doing it's job so I'm happy with it. I just wish it had a built-in thermostat to see the current temp and humidity.
    capable product
works well, motionless compared to other models.
no odor problems as others have stated, just follow directions, not much profession keeping it clean and running well
