Air Cleaner
There's nothing specific about this air cleaner, it's just OK. I guess it's helping some but I haven't been able to tell a difference. For a low fetch solution, it's got to be better than nothing but I plan on getting a better air filtration device.

For what it is...
If you lack a really great air purifier you need to spend a lot more money, than what this costs. It's a simple draft. I don't think the fan is powerful enough to pull enopugh air through to really do a thorough job of cleaning even a 100 sq feet, though over term it will do what it says it will do. It is the filter that is really doing the work here. I think it's ridiculous for a company to spawn a product and not stock the replacement items that should go with it. It just isn't worth the hassle to have to search all over god's the cosmos for a replacement filter, that really only cost pennies to make but cost the consumer an salacious sum to buy, plus you ahve to pay an outrageous sum to have it shipped to you and the filter weighs little more than a few letters to despatch. Of course I understand the reason it is shipped the way it is. Stick it in a darn box and ship it USPS for $4.85 priorty, virtue grief. For all of the trouble and cost, one would be better off investing their money in a professional quality part that would clean your whole house, over time you will pay for it trying to keep this little gizmo up in filters and eventually replacing the part itself.
I don't think the metal in the filter really matters, it is the depth of the material that filters the air that matters most. Too much as the motor could by any means burn up because it would strain trying to pull air through and not enough and you don't get the quailty of cleaning you would want. A larger fan is affluent to make more noise. When they decide to return to making the quiet motors they made in the early all metal bladed fans that you could take with back in the 50's, one might be better able to sleep with it running.
I'd say this unit is really only worth about $25.00 and the pass through only about $7.50 including shipping, I paid $40 fo my unit including the filter. You can be relevant larger filters for much less and they work just as well. One could buy the smallest possible and cut it to fit the unit and get out cheaper, taking into consideration the economic times right now. That's what I am opting to do.
If you opt to cut a filter that contains metal, beware that the metal can cut you almost certainly, wear heavy duty gloves when handling.

It's been a year or so and this machine is still working huge, filters are over priced to me, but I have cut other filters to size and used them. I have not tried to get the original filter for this manufacture and I hope I don't have the problem some of the other customers have had. I don't have a problem recommending this machine especially since it cleans such a at liberty space and I have 12x13 rooms. I want another one but now I can't find the machine and I will never pay $80 for a used one much less a new one. I don't understand why people flirt up a good thing.

Marvellous machine, but...
After purchasing one of these HEPA sieve machines, I was impressed with how quiet and effective they were. After my good experience with the first machine, I purchased two more machines.
The poser is that these machines do wear out. After about 1 1/2 years of use, my filter machine became noisier and less powerful. Since I use one in my bedroom, I had to swap it out with a newer, quieter make. Even though these machines wear out, I cannot argue with the price. They are well priced for what they can do. I will purchase more machines.

Do Not Buy This Offering
AMAZON, TAKE THIS Output OFF OF YOUR WEBSITE. I placed five stars on this so that it would be more likely to be read. But if you're considering actually buying this spin-off, read the one-star review. No replacements filters available means this product should not be on the vend. Why does Amazon continue to allow sleezy vendors to sell on their website? Bad stance, Amazon. With all the money you're making, please hire some people to go through product reviews and perhaps match them up with the kick department and DO SOMETHING about it. I once bought a Haier compact refrigerator and had problems with it. No matter how many times I contacted the fellowship with my questions, no one ever called or emailed me. Not ever. But Amazon is still selling Haier's garbage on their website. I paid about $250 for that reaction and just sold it for $15 at a garage sale. Now, here they are selling a filter-reliant goods for which there are no replacement filters available.

my "care blanket"
I have terrible allergies in the spring and fall and this works great. Even better I live in an extremely blocked up area of NJ and this sucker is LOUD on high, I mean really loud, my husband calls it "the station" when he walks by and I have it cranked. It's great for drowning out loud noises such as traffic, building bedlam, street noise etc. I'm so glad to have found this on Amazon. I thought they had discontinued this model. If you need allergy remedy + intense noise reduction this is the product for you. I can't sleep without it
