Customer Reviews

Ceaseless years later, no problems.
From the amount of claptrap that I vacuum out of the removable filter every now and then, this thing works. Pretty silent, runs 24/7. Makes you discern healthier.
SO advantage it!
We needed an air cleaner/purifier, and after lots of reading and probe, landed on this one. It is absolutely terrific! My husband and I both suffer from seasonal allergies pretty grievously, but we haven't had any problems at all since installing this unit. I'm saving my lunch money to buy another for the family extent, and if I could, I would put one in every room of the house.
Strong, High-Quality Product
I've been management the Rabbit Air BioGS (model 421A - covers 600 sq. ft.) Ultra-Quiet Air Purifier extremely much non-stop since I bought it a couple of years ago, and I am quite pleased with its performance.

FILTERS
------------
I have regularly cleaned the filters, and cerebration I was doing a good job, but I recently ordered replacements and realized that my old HEPA filter was in a sorry shape. I guess I should have been changing it at least once a year or so. Of course, until recently I lived in a VERY dusty environment and ran it a lot, so your mileage will veer.

The coal filter is probably this product's least desirable feature. You have to be very careful when cleaning it. I by accident popped open one of the compartments. Charcoal pellets escaped everywhere, and even after I finally got it closed, the counterfeit compartments never quite sealed right. I don't think it affected the machine's performance, but it was not an enjoyable incident.

Also, be aware that the filters are expensive. To replace both you'll spend about 100 dollars. You can only purchase them from Rabbit (through Amazon).

Parade
------------
It seems like most electronic devices these day are built to scream out to the world that they are operating with lots of lights and beeps. The Rabbit is no freak. I don't usually have it in the bedroom, but when I do, I turn it to face the wall so that the display doesn't annoy me. It beeps every period you press the button, so make sure you have it all set up before you go to sleep!

NOISE
------------
I can barely hear it on the low surroundings. On the high setting, though, it makes a bit of noise. But, even at its most powerful, the machine is still less noisy than the low setting of a routine fan.

SUMMARY
------------
For me, the question would be: Is this product worth the money? Given its durability, I would say that it is.
Terrifying product
I am a smoker and always smoked in one lodge with my fan blowing out the window, not very energy efficient!
I bought this and WOW! Very quiet and very effective. Super down-to-earth to put together too!
A+++++
Absolutely Gigantic
We purchased one Rabbit Air BioGS to try out. Within two weeks we purchased two more. These Air Purifiers are devoted. The first day we noticed no more sneezing for us and our two pets. Friends have noticed the difference in air quality in our home.

Only last 8 month or less
Spellbinding how this filter is supposed to last at least a year but my rabbit air which is left on low 24/7 just shut itself off after 8 months, because of this exclude became so clogged up. I have 2 cats in a one-bedroom apartment. For the filter to expire so quickly is a bit disappointment when the assess of this filter is 45 dollars. Good filter but inaccurate description.
What a Contrariety dispute
This was my first in unison a all the same changing the filters since I bought the Rabbit Air BioGS (model 421A - 600 sq. ft.) Ultra-Quietude Air Purifier about two years ago. I should have changed them a long time ago.

I balked at spending so much for the HEPA filter, and I am still not thrilled about the tariff, but there is no doubt it needed to be done. I had been cleaning the old filter with a vacuum and thought I had been doing a good job. The new refine was so clean, though, that it made the old one look like a dingy mess.

Everything fit fine. The packaging was great. And I have no complaints about the effect. As another reviewer mentioned, it would be nice to have this bundled with the charcoal filter to save some money.
In operation but expensive.
The Rabbit Air does a fair job of filtering the air in my house. The downside is the overly-expensive replacement filters that are only available from Rabbit Air. If I had it to do again, I might have tried another sort with more reasonably priced replacement filters.
SATISFIED
I am very thrilled with my Rabbit. I had severe coughing episodes before I decided to give it a try. It has helped me with that problem, and I have recommended it to a friend.
Light of one's life Rabbit Air
Have occupied a rabbit air for several years and it keeps dust, dander, and allergens out of the air. Works great for those of you non-smokers who are living with someone who does smoke, or if you smoke and fancy to clean the air in your space.

Customer Reviews

It works.
Darling this product. Cleans air fast, and it's quiet. Sent one to my oldest grandchild, who lives in an every now musty room in a wonderful historic house. Enter lime-green RabbitAir. No spoilt. Youngest grandchild in same house felt slighted because lime green is HER favorite flush. The color works, but so does the product; it helps with her allergies as well. Cleaning the filters is a thumb one's nose at with a handheld vacuum cleaner and Q-tips (sorry, RabbitAir, they do work); no need to continually put back HEPA filters.
Merit the Money
I got this to substitute the other air filter (not Rabbit Air) we were moving downstairs into the basement. I really like this one better because it has an Auto draw which senses the air and cylces the fan speed accordingly. It has a pollen setting which will run constantly. Filters are not costly (comparatively) and the HEPA only has to be replaced every 18 months and the Carbon filter ever 3 years! Just vacuum to keep up!

On auto, the sensor senses chemicals or odors and kicks on accordingly. It has a NON-OZONE creating ion stage set which freshens the air it circulates with no funny OZONE smell. Another nice feature is the Turbo Methodology. You select Turbo and it runs the fan on high for 10 minutes and then it switches to Auto Standard operating procedure.

Drawbacks are the bright LCD panel since we have it in the bedroom but I have just put some post it notes over top. If you aren't planning on having it a bedroom (it is a bit philanthropic for just one room anyway) this shouldn't be an issue. The other drawback is that if you have it on the pollen setting, you can't use the Auto backdrop. I had it on Auto (it wasn't running) and switched to Pollen and it started to run. I'm not sure I want it to run on a low burn rubber all the time (which it what the other one did) because I rather liked the idea it kicked off when not needed but... I guess that's the purpose of the Pollen home. The other drawback is several functions are not available without the remote control. To help not lose it there is a storage place on the top of the machine.

I would recommend.
Well meant and effective
I bought the RA 582A back in November 2007, so I have a few years endure with it. I am just getting ready to replace the HEPA filter on the unit. I soak the charcoal screen in a vinegar solution to freshen it, and I don't see a need to replace it now. The HEPA filter is more fragile, but I find that using a clammy microfiber cloth, I can wipe many of the pollutants from the thin membrane that protects the HEPA filter. I am replacing the riddle now because when I put it on, I notice a decrease in the air flow, probably due to blockage of the HEPA filter. However, it's been over 2 years, so that's not bad. The plastic (bristly) filter in front is easily rinsed and brushed clean. Wow, it captures a lot of dust, pollen, and this in the good old days b simultaneously even a large bug! The effectiveness of this coarse filter is probably why the HEPA can be maintained for a longer time.

The item seems to perform well, but you must maintain the grill around the two sensors, by vacuuming or wiping away the dust that accumulates over however. The auto setting works, but I find it better to keep the fan running continuously on the low setting. It is very quiet and doesn't crazy us. The unit is in our family room near the kitchen. It effectively draws out most of the kitchen odors before they excursion upstairs to the bedroom.

The controls are very well designed. I like the red warning light that comes on every 90 period or so, to warn you to clean the filters. The remote is also very nice, but stays tucked away in a 'bag' at the top rear of the unit.

Sorry to see that some others have had some problems with their units, but so far we haven't experienced any. I highly vouch for this model of the Rabbit Air purifiers.
I be sorry for ripped off
I ordered a 582BioGS copy after being a very happy owner of the RabbitAir BioGS421. I wanted a unit with a higher CADR (uncontaminated air throughput) rating than the 421 for downstairs, so I paid the extra $80 or so dollars for a bigger item. My new filter arrived today, and it works just like my 421. Which is the problem.
A deft check on the Rabbitair website seems to confirm my suspicion that the 582 and 421 are identical: the dimensions are the same, the incline is the same, and all three filters are the same. If this is supposedly a beefier unit, shouldn't it use a bigger air filter? Shouldn't it demand a mode heavy duty motor? Most likely the only difference is that the turbine is programmed to run at a higher make tracks on the 582. This leads me to a lot of questions such as, how can the 582 and 421 have the same advertised filter life if the 582 pumps more air through the same weed out? Won't the motor burn out quicker on the 582 since it is driven harder? Unless you are running the 582 at the "turbo" habitat very often and want to risk potential reliability issues a couple of years down the line, hold your money and buy the 421. I resent having paid an extra $80 for the ability to run the fan a little bit faster.
Works so well, I may buy another.
For a few years, I have been using a Sly Plasmacluster air purifier in one bedroom. Although the Sharp purifier has functioned well, I wanted to try another brand in a sponsor bedroom. The RabbitAir BioGS SPA-582A was my choice. It has functioned well during the four weeks that I have owned it, and is serenity on its lowest two speeds. I had an inquiry for RabbitAir customer support, and they responded quickly, and stylishly. Thus far, I am completely satisfied with this product. My sister took delivery of one yesterday, and another friend of temperament will likely order one as well.

Customer Reviews

Elevated product. Read for comparison against 582A
I wanted to shaft this review mainly because there is no real comparison between Rabbit Air MinusA2 (covers 700 sq. ft.) Ultra-Retired Air Purifier - 6 Stage Filtration! - built in Mood Light and the Rabbit Air BioGP (representation 582A - covers 780 sq. ft.) Ultra-Quiet Air Purifier w/ Germicidal Protection- Low Continuance - Washable Filters!, Pearl White out there. This is to give you an idea if you're making a choice between the two. [...]

I first purchased the 582A but returned it after a few months of routine due to some minor defect for an exchange with MinusA2 (RabbitAir support was extremely helpful). As a consequence I have experience with both of these units. The main reason I purchased an Air Purifier was dust elimination and for that fastidious purpose in mind both these products exceeded my expectations.

In the order of importance for me, these are the differences:
- As I am redistribution this review MinusA2 is $[...] more expensive than 582A. So why should you even consider MinusA2? Read on...

- Filtering:
(a) MinusA2 has 2 more levels of filtering. The Mediocrity Filter (which filters medium sized particles and increases the efficiency/lifespan of the power HEPA filter) and a Customized Filter of your choice.
(b) On the other hand although RabbitAir boasts about the benefits of BioGP HEPA filters over the ruly HEPA filters on their website, it's not clear if the MinusA2 HEPA filter is also BioGP (yet it's made by 3M and looks high grade). The price of the 582A's HEPA filter is more expensive. I am not sure if this is due to the surface area or because 582A's screen is really more effective.

- Noise level: This is where MinusA2 shines due to its more efficient new engine.
(a) I was pleasantly surprised to find out MinusA2 improves a certain extent a bit over already very silent 582A. To compare at different speeds the noise and Clean Air Flow, stopping the Features tab in RabbitAir's own website for each product.
(b) I am not sure how RabbitAir calculates the sq ft. coverage but I run these units at the highest sprint for which noise is acceptable (~ about 30dB in my opinion). Consequently I can run MinusA2 at Medium speed producing 97 Cubic Feet/min of uncontaminated air as opposed to 582A's Low speed producing 85 Cubic Feet/min.

- Area of span: Although 582A is rated at 780 sq ft. versus 700 sq ft. of MinusA2, if you check the Features tab for each commodity on RabbitAir's website you'll find out that MinusA2's clean air output is generally higher at the same speed setting as well as its CADR (clean air delivery rate) rating. I imagine RabbitAir's sq ft. calculation is based on the peak setting in which 582A outputs 208 Cubic Feet/min vs 187 Cubic Feet/min of MinusA2. However I over this is unrealistic and I doubt many of you will choose to use it at the highest setting due to high energy consumption and turmoil.

- Design and build quality: MinusA2 wins this comparison by far.
(a) I must say though that there's room for improvement for both of these products. For both of them the synthetic construction looks a bit cheap although this is more apparent with 582A. I wish their build were metallic.
(b) However MinusA2 is fairly handsome overall with its square lines.
(c) It could also be wall mounted.
(d) One more thing I'd like to mention is I remarkably liked the tiny remote of 582A. I think MinusA2's remote is not only less functional but is bulkier for no dissuade. I also miss 582A's the tiny remote control pocket behind the unit which reduced unlikely control clutter in the house.
(e) By the way although the mood light of MinusA2 adds to its cool looks, I put one's trust in RabbitAir's own claim of the Mood Light "helping normalize blood pressure, vibration, and facilitate deep breathing blah blah" is total nonsense. I think this sounds utterly unscientific and if anything has negative influence on my view of RabbitAir as a honest company with high property products. Also you will find out that you can't change the color of this light as you wish (based on your mood) but the unit sets that itself (based on its own keen).

- Energy consumption: MinusA2 consumes between 8 to 47 Watts whereas 582A consumes between 7 to 67 Watts. I put faith the lower consumption of MinusA2 is due to the newer generation Mitsubishi engine employed. Therefore you can conjecture lower energy usage if you plan to run the unit at anything beyond the Silent setting.

- Sensors:
(a) Note that MinusA2 does not have an odor sensor although 582A has. I recollect this is quite useful with 582A and I don't understand why RabbitAir chose to drop this from MinusA2.
(b) On the other dispense MinusA2 has a light sensor. Certainly it does not help to do a better air purification, but if you're using the Sedan mode then the unit goes to the Silent setting automatically a few mins after the lights are dimmed. I improvise this should've been optional even in the Auto mode but it's a useful feature nevertheless.
(c) The particle sensor of MinusA2 looks more adorn and I imagine it does a better job.
(d) Furthermore MinusA2 has adjustable sensor sensitivity. This is exceptionally useful, and the reason I returned 582A was because the sensors of the unit I received was simply too reactive and was changing from "clean" to "very dirty" for no apparent reason in a split second (during late nights etc when there was no essential change in room conditions).

Overall I think MinusA2 is a great unit and improves on the already exciting 582A. I thought it's worth the price difference. I already ordered a new one after RabbitAir customer guy said they could give me a discount for an additional unit.

Customer Reviews

An shockingly quiet, mid-power air purifier.
I wanted an air purifier for my living stay where I have some electronics that need protection from smoke and dust. I also needed a unit that could realistically and reliably bathe a exhaust the air sufficiently in this 250 square foot area and help remove the odor and particulate dilemma from occasional cigarette smoke that may drift into the room. It's a large volume area because of the enormous cathedral ceiling and open design. While that may not sound too difficult to accomplish with many mid to large air purifiers, I also wanted a component that was as silent as possible, and that's not so easy to find.

I spent several weeks researching air purifiers and came away with the finale that IQ Air, Austin Air and Blueair are probably the best that the industry has to offer as far as big and powerful air purifiers go these days (IQ Air has a carbon percolate with 5 pounds of charcoal and Austin Air has 15 pounds of charcoal ... 15 pounds!). So why didn't I opt one of those? Price, noise level, size and looks were the determining factors (although Blueair has best noise ratings and they look attractive, but are a bit on the pricey side). Excluding any of those models wasn't amenable. Nor was it easy to cross off less expensive mid-power sized units from Sharp and Winix. I also had a profound time choosing between several models of Rabbit Air. Decisions ... decisions....

In order to educate myself in the funereal waters of outrageous air purifier claims, I turned to the internet, but at first I found no real help (not many websites discuss air purifiers). I had recently purchased a small, one-room air purifier from Alen and didn't do enough experimentation. Turned out that I wasn't exactly thrilled with that purchase (although it's really not a bad unit per se ... I rated it 3 stars). Fortunately, I after all found a website that took reviewing and testing of these products very seriously, which gave me more confidence when I unequivocal to go for a more powerful (and expensive) unit in the living room. I highly recommend Air-Purifier-Power as the one and ONLY authority (at present) to help shed some light on this less than stellar industry. Personally, I wouldn't rely on Consumer Reports as far as air purifiers go. I found them to be of short help and their testing methods for air purifiers have been under fire for years, and I can see why. What they rated highly gave me a good chortle.

So now that I have the Rabbit Air 700A, what do I think? As the title indicates, this is a very quiet air purifier, perhaps one of the top two or three in the industry (of the ones that have fans ... I won't go into what I believe about those that don't have fans). This unit has five different fan speeds (silent, low, medium, high and turbo). To me, hubbub level was as critical as cleaning ability. What good is an air purifier if it interferes with your daily living? I didn't demand to have to turn up the TV to drown out a fan. Of course at the two top speeds (high and turbo), one can easily hear the 700A throughout the house of ill repute. Still, its high speed is quieter than many products at mid speeds. So do yourself a favor and check out fan output (CFM) and the associated tumult level (dBA) on any model you may want to purchase. The Rabbit Air 700A is about 46 dBA on turbo speed (@ 187 CFM) and under 21 dBA on reticent speed (@47 CFM)! BTW, some products are even quieter than this, but check the CFM to see if they are putting out as much air at that noise horizontal.

I chose the 700A over the 780A for a couple of reasons, even though I would have preferred black over white (not too impressed with the looks of this creamy model). The two reasons were value and noise level. These two models are virtually matching except the fan is revved up a bit on the 780A, making it a tad louder, but has the ability to suck in and blow more air and cover a inconsiderable larger area. The first three speeds on the 700A (silent, low, medium) are indeed quiet, and the silent help is aptly named. I have to get within 4 or 5 feet to begin hearing it. The CADR (clean air pronunciation rate) rating on the 700A and 780A is the same (except the 780A has a slightly better Pollen rating). As far as up footage is concerned, divide any number that these manufacturers spew out by two (normal ceilings) or three (elated ceilings) and you will get a closer idea of what is realistic. If you assume the manufacturer's claims are legit, you may be in for distress (I'm pretty sure they calculate all these numbers based upon normal ceiling height and uttermost fan speed, which is unrealistic in the normal home environment). I'd like to see a CADR rating at each fan expedite and the use of volume in addition to square footage as far as coverage specification, but fat chance that these will ever be implemented.

What separated the Rabbit Air products from each other (the 700A and 780A vs their other models), as well as other manufacturers models, is the capability faculty to choose a custom filter (they have four to choose from at present: germ, toxin, pet allergy and odor). This is a terrific idea, and one can order a specific filter type depending upon one's needs. I find this makes inimitable sense. And installing and changing filters is simple and painless (pealing off the cellophane envelope on these filters is a bigger pain than installing them). It also has a permanent pre-filter one can vacuum and/or lave, which I find a very important feature. Pre-filters pick up the biggest particulate matter, and I will no longer buy an air purifier without a cleanable pre-run. Live and learn.

The ad states that it is a six stage purification system: anti-microbial pre-filter (presume from silver), anti-bacterial medium filter (additional dust catcher, which is queer in the industry and helps not to overtax the HEPA filter), BioGS HEPA filter (I guess it gets that name because they extra some anti-viral agents ... yeah, whatever), custom filter (not many companies I cognizant of, if any, have this option) and carbon filter (although I doubt there is much more than a pound of charcoal in it, but I haven't measured the pressure). I guess the mysterious sixth stage is a negative ion generator (the good brand, but who knows these days?). I like the fact that their filter kits, which include the four transformable filters, are reasonably priced and are one of the better values I have found.

This model comes with a decent set of electronics and lights for giving you gen, plus it performs automatic cycling (changes fan speed depending upon the air quality that the sliver sensor reads), but it doesn't come with an odor sensor. This probably isn't too big of a deal since these sensors are only just reference quality to begin with. However, even knowing the limitations of these sensors, I like the idea of having them included and prospect for the price I paid for the 700A an odor sensor should have come with this unit. At least the particle sensor gives me some feedback (exactness not withstanding) and a baseline to go from.

Rating air purifiers may not be too accurate unless one has used their particular model for a full colander cycle (anywhere from 6 months to a year depending upon the environment it is in). I've only owned this product for a small-minded over 2 months now, and during that time I found the quality and performance has been very good. If things change during the year, I'll dispatch back. So, between 1 and 10, I rate the Rabbit Air MinusA2 SPA-700A (that's a mouthful) an 8, or a solid 4-star rating, but this is assuming it will give me years of untroubled accommodation (it does come with a 5 year warrantee, which is a big plus). Other than thinking it should have included an odor sensor (one of their cheaper models number this), I wish it had a more hefty carbon filter, say 3 pounds of charcoal at minimum, but it is what it is. This marginal carbon cheesecloth is the reason I selected the custom odor filter option (although I may opt for a different custom eliminate later on and swap them whenever I choose). I also felt that they should have provided a wall mounting grade since they advertise it being wall mountable. Now if this bracket was an expensive to make add-on, I'd understand. But it's a bracket they coerce for a buck and sell for 10, so I consider this wringing out every cent they can from the consumer. I also had to laugh at their nonsensical claim concerning their "mood" light. Still, I'm pretty happy with this unit, but for the life of me I don't differentiate where I can put it so it will be unobtrusive (but that would be the case for any of these devices).
Overpower Air Filter I've Ever Owned!
I did a lot of delve into on air filters a year ago before I decided to upgrade my previously owned HEPA air filter. This was the only one that had consistent competent reviews from multiple sources and I literally couldn't find anyone writing bad things about this company. I've had this air clean for almost a year now and it's been nothing but great. Extremely easy to clean the pre-filter and it operates like a enrapture. I chose the Germ Defense model and I haven't been sick more than once or twice in the past year. I did attend to with customer service when I first received the product due to a faulty mood light, but they were extremely faultless and easy to work with. They sent me out a brand new unit almost overnight with not one expense to me (Yes a NEW replacement, not refurbished like most companies). So I'd have to say this is the unsurpassed air filter for the money that you can think about buying. If money is of no object to you at all, then I suppose you can look into that one Swiss band "IQ Air" that makes the multi-thousand dollar air filters or the extremely large complete core air filter systems, but besides those this is definitely one of the best in the world.

Now I want to get one of those cool artist series front panels! The Outstanding Wave cover would be nice.
Business nicely... Slighty noisey.
Rabbit air purifier is very unctuous and seems to work great. Whenever I smoke, the light sensor changes color to red (poor air calibre) and starts working hard. After little while, the light changes and the fan slows down. Air quality gain is undeniable. It is slgihtly bigger and noiser than I expected.

Highly recommended for smokers.
Choice, quiet, good quality
In extension to doing a good job cleaning the air, I also was looking for a purifier that would be very quiet. This Rabbit Air is really quiet. I don't have a way to hand out air quality, but the air sure smells cleaner. I noticed a few times when I broil something the air quality bright will change indicating the air needs further cleaning; so I guess that is a good sign.

The unit looks very well made and is very smart.

So far as cost, I would rank it very good. The initial cost of the unit and replacement filters is very thinking.

I called their support line with some questions and they were very helpful. They answered the call right away (no holding).

The space is rated at 700 sq ft, but I have read that if you have allergies you should cut that number in half.

rabbit air minus a2 (780)
The air purifier has worked very well so far -- I'm using it in an area with new carpet and paint and I feel that it has really helped unburdened that "new smell" out of the room.

I ponder I’ve tried all the thinkable air cleaners out there. From your beau id Honeywell HEPA filters (which I brainwork were nasty - because the filters were overpriced, didn’t last sustained - and stunk your ancestry up MORE if you didn’t modify the filters at the exact things) - to the Ionic cleaners (first tried the “simulated” Sharper Perception models - which worked ok, then long run settled on four Ionic Puff desktop models for a variety of rooms). While the Ionic Easy cleaners met much argumentation - I felt they were the most talented. Even after a fete - with many residents smoking - my house never stunk like smoke. But wretchedly, Sharper Model is gone - and three of the four Ionic Breezes I owned in the final analysis stony-broke. I needed a new air cleaner.

So I stumbled across this throng called Rabbit Air in a arsenal. I checked out the website, looked at the specs - and picked up the flagship Rabbit Air MinusA2 SPA-780A .
