Very calmness, simple to use, allergy reducingI palpable in DC and they are constructing a new building across the street from me. Between springtime in the midatlantic and a construction allergies in my house have been at an all circumstance high, not to mention a fine dust over the furniture. I bought one of this units for the living cell, initially apprehensive about the potential noise (I used to have a Honeywell and could not keep it in the bedroom at night because of the thundering).
Noise:
This unit is extremely quiet, it stays on 24/7 and I just bought a number two one to keep in the children's room. At the medium setting the only indication it is on are the lights on the front, at the highest setting it seems to be about as peace of mind as the refrigerator. The lights are fairly dim so they don't work as a night light keeping you awake at eventide.
Ease of use:
There are several settings but they are very self-explanatory and simple to set. You can set the unit to run for a set amount of time (2,4,6 hrs) or you can set it for unremitting functioning. One nifty feature is an "automatic" which will determine whether the amount of junk in the air requires the low, medium or ripe purification settings. Finally there is a control where you decide if you want the extra ionization purification.
Expense:
The replacement filters are impartially inexpensive as far as filters go. The main filter also has a visual gauge to help you determine if it wishes changing.
Efficiency:
I'm no environmental engineer so my gauge of how well it works is crude. Before buying it we had to vacuum and sweep the furniture every 2-3 days because of the fine white dust from the construction; we only have to do it about once every 7-10 time now. The other measuring stick is that I was taking daily Claritin for my allergies before and that has been reduced to as needed only (once a week possibly).
I guess the main point to show how happy I am with this unit is that I bought a second one to keep in the children's bedroom 24/7.
Right for small bedroom
I purchased this piece when my first child was born. It was supposed to keep his bedroom air clean as well as providing a soothing white ruckus. I paid $300 back then.
The filter cartridge hangs loose inside the casing, which has two antipathetic effects: Unfiltered air can get around it, and the "white noise" is accompanied by a slight rattling sound.
The ooze compartment's opening mechanism is an extremely weak piece of plastic. It broke to one side before my first change of filters.
The filter cartridge (which you have to order online) is more expensive than the ones from most other competitors. I exhort if you comparison shop, calculate how much each air purifier will cost you per year (if you plan to stick to the putting together's recommended maintenance schedule.)
As my son grew older he discovered this air purifier as a toy. Not only did he become an expert in pushing the buttons to intimate the display flash different things and alter the fan speed, but eventually started charming the filter layers out (it didn't take much, since the retaining plastic was already broken). He also showed his younger sibling. With the second filter exchange I taped the enclosure shut with duct tape.
About two months ago the fan stopped turning in the low put one's foot down mode, then a few weeks later it stopped turning at medium speed. A few days ago the fan started smelling repulsively and I noticed that it is not turning at all anymore. I will not give negative points for failing after three years, especially after this entity has taken a lot of abuse from the kids.
Have I been happy with my purchase? Somewhat yes. It provided white sound and entertainment for my children. It kept the air clean.
Would I recommend it? Probably not. I got a Honeywell unit as a replacement and I am happier with it so far for several reasons:
1. Even though the Honeywell is in the lowest location as loud as the Neoair in the highest setting, it as a much higher airflow rate even then.
2. The Neoair cost twice as much, and its replacement filters are more dear.
3. The Neoair is built very flimsy. The honeywell seems to be more sturdy. It just seems to be a better design.
Bottom line: I would exhort this unit only, if the noise level is a primary concern and you are willing to sacrifice air quality for it.
Awe-inspiring
I bought this artefact at http://www.breathemoreeasily.com , but wanted to share my feedback in this forum. It has dramaitcally increased the "breatheability" of my air. I suffer from MCS, astham, and painful allergies, and the use of this product has helped tremendously...and even allowed me to reduce the amount of medication I take! It has already paid for itself!
Neoair and Las Vegas dust obstreperous
Dust is a powerful problem to solve in our desert community. I read that The American Lung Association gives Las Vegas a level of "D" for the levels of dust particulates in our air.
To me, house dust exposure triggers asthma symptoms such as wheezing, coughing, casket tightness and shortness of breath. However, since I started using the Neoair HEPA air purifier those symptoms have now reduced substantially. I'm in the process of purchasing another unit for my large kitchen and living room.
Accurate product and friendly customer support
No hassle grasp, fast service and friendly customer support. I called Neoair with a lot of questions about their air purifiers and which model would be the finest fit for my HUGE problem with mold and dusty in my house. The operator recommended Neoair Enviro for my Bedroom and the Neoair Gain for my livingroom. I'm super happy with the results. Thanks
