Very hushed, simple to use, allergy reducing
I alight in DC and they are constructing a new building across the street from me. Between springtime in the midatlantic and a construction allergies in my house have been at an all constantly high, not to mention a fine dust over the furniture. I bought one of this units for the living margin, initially apprehensive about the potential noise (I used to have a Honeywell and could not keep it in the bedroom at night because of the bawling).
Noise:
This unit is extremely quiet, it stays on 24/7 and I just bought a alternate one to keep in the children's room. At the medium setting the only indication it is on are the lights on the front, at the highest setting it seems to be about as withdrawn as the refrigerator. The lights are fairly dim so they don't work as a night light keeping you awake at round-the-clock.
Ease of use:
There are several settings but they are very self-explanatory and simple to set. You can set the unit to run for a set amount of time (2,4,6 hrs) or you can set it for ceaseless functioning. One nifty feature is an "automatic" which will determine whether the amount of junk in the air requires the low, medium or aged purification settings. Finally there is a control where you decide if you want the extra ionization purification.
Expense:
The replacement filters are moderately inexpensive as far as filters go. The main filter also has a visual gauge to help you determine if it requests changing.
Efficiency:
I'm no environmental engineer so my gauge of how well it works is crude. I purchased this component when my first child was born. It was supposed to keep his bedroom air clean as well as providing a soothing white sound. I paid $300 back then.

Would I recommend it? Probably not. I got a Honeywell unit as a replacement and I am happier with it so far for several reasons:
1. Even though the Honeywell is in the lowest scene as loud as the Neoair in the highest setting, it as a much higher airflow rate even then.
2. The Neoair cost twice as much, and its replacement filters are more dear.
3. The Neoair is built very flimsy. The honeywell seems to be more sturdy. It just seems to be a better design.
Bottom line: I would tout this unit only, if the noise level is a primary concern and you are willing to sacrifice air quality for it.

Cheaply, but quality machine
I have lived with simple allergies most of my life back east. I tried allergy shots and like some other people, I got hooked onto the Ecoquest have to do with about 5 years ago and ended up buying one of their air purifiers for their claims that they help allergy sufferers. It did make a doll-sized difference, but not a whole lot. The unit did not really filter the dust in the air, it just knocked it down. Soon, everything in my dwelling became dustier, and I found myself dusting and vacuuming more. Eventually I stopped using it because the ozone the machine kicked out starting breaking anything adjustable or rubber down in the house. After I stopped using it, I figured after all the research done on purifiers, and if Ecoquest was the way to go, then are there really any sound purifiers out there?
Then I moved from PA to NV and found myself battling a new host of allergy inducing goodies. Finally fed up I began researching air purifiers again. I was persevering to get my moneys worth and get something that worked, and worked very well. Most reviews and consumer reported pointed to the IQ systems as being the most, which I will not argue, but they were just too big and expensive. I looked through several other brands that were supposed to be top of the line, but when it came down to the unexceptional joe reviews, (which I take more for face value than the experts), I found most of them to have mostly good reviews, but not totally strong reviews. Each had there own flaws.
Then I ran into dirt on the Neoair Enviro and I was impressed. Over the many sites I looked at, the experts and the average consumer had almost all positive reviews about this appliance. I then found info on the Plus model and figured it would be the right machine for me because of the super hepa filter it has. It was also only $100 more than the key model and I could get free shipping on it. For on $300 bucks, and from what the specs and reviewers were saying, this was a far recovered buy than a $700 IQ. I decided to buy it.
A month later, I am not regretting my decision. It a fairly small auto and not very heavy at all. The filers are easy to take out and replace. There is virtually no assembly required and it is almost ready to go out of the box. Due to my allergies being so punishing, I had difficulty sleeping at night due to congestion. I found myself eating allergy medication like bon-bons to help me breath. After about six hours of running the machine on high right out of the box, I noticed a inequality in the air quality in my bedroom (where I placed the machine) and I could actually breath better. The air became crisper and felt cooler. Even my girlfriend esteemed the difference and she does not suffer from allergies. A month later I could not be happier. It is easy to use and the settings nick. It also uses UV but does not produce ozone, which is a plus. I do not thing the machine lives up to the set forth that it takes care of 600 sq ft. My bedroom is not all that big and I expected it to reach into the hallway and maybe even other rooms in the blood, but it seems my bedroom is the only place where I can truly see a difference. If you are looking for a cheap air purifier that is effective, I put you take a look at the Neoair's.
