It Buzzes!
I pore over the previous review that it buzzed, but i figured he got a bad one. So I bought it, and sure enough after a few days of continus functional, it buzzes. Thank goodness this is in my living room, so the buzzing sound is not easily heard unless you get about 2 feet from it. But if this was in my bedroom, I'd have concerns.

The snare is easy enough right out of the box. I put it on auto, and it adjusts the speed acording to dust levels and oder levels. In my idea, the auto works well in detecting and cleaning oders, but as far as dust, either my house is super dust charitable, which I doubt as I have carpet, or the dust senor is not sensitive enough. It almost alwasys stays on low no matter if the doors are unfilled of if the kids are playing in front of it.

With that said, there is no way to know if it's actually taking dust out of my living room justifiable yet. I'd like to think it is, and I'm sure it is, but to what levels is unknown to me. I bought a big round air cleaner years ago by another presence, and it's round shape made it too big to put anywhere usefull, so it ended up cleaning up my basement, using a timer, I am adept to keep the basement clean.

As far as this air cleaner, it's better than nothing, it's better than buying the next model up at twice the quotation, it buzzes lowely, so bedroom placement is questionable, but it's cleaning the air. So it gets 3 stars for organization the air, but loses 2 stars for buzzing and having a poor auto dust sensor.

Astonishing air filter, great price
I purchased this for my allergies and I am so opportune with it. I need to get another one for the upstairs. I have cats and I put it in the guest room to reduce allergens when I have company. Even guests have commented that they note a difference in the air quality. I will definetly purchase another of the same.

Extravagant, but worth it!
My tranquillize and I were waking up feeling stuffed up and decided to purchase an air purifier. We did our research and decided on this item. We absolutely love it and will be buying another one for our childs bedroom. It's amazing when you change the carbon exclude every 3 months the amount of yucky stuff it has trapped on it.

maddening buzzing sound
Hellishly quiet and effective at first. After about a week's worth of use, the plasmacluster unit in the back started buzzing loudly. There is no way to adapt off the plasmacluster ionizer and I'm not sure if the hydroxyls emitted are harmful.

I am using this party in the living room. I am a seasonal allergy sufferer and have noticed an immediate difference. I do have Chihuahuas who had some respiratory problems that appears to have improved. Sweet this machine and can highly recommend it.

Very righteous air purifier for city dweller
I subsist in a big, filthy city, and poor lungs were giving me grief. Having asthma, I try to take meticulousness of myself without resorting to drugs constantly, but diet and exercise doesn't cure pollution. In as well to that, every week I would run my fingers across my furniture and they would have a smear of black "soot" on them. Now, THAT is a dirty city!

So I gave the Electrolux Oxygen Ultra a try. My location is only about 600 square feet, so keep this in mind, because the Ultra is meant for smallish apartments or very husky rooms, not entire houses.

It does a very good job at cleaning the air. It has an honest-to-God HEPA filter(not some cruddy "Hepa-exemplar" filter). There is also a carbon filter to absorb smells, like the cigarette stink that drifts into your standing from your hallway neighbors! Oh, and don't forget that you don't have to dust your furniture nearly as often!

Sure, the HEPA filter is hideously overpriced. About $60, but you only need to change it about once a year. The carbon filters you change every three months(I don't conscious the cost of those). Electrolux will send you the unit with one HEPA filter and three carbon filters, so you will be breathing light and not out-of-pocket for the first year.

There are several modes, and you can choose to set it yourself or just let it run on auto. It will detect dirt in the air and redress it's speed. The fan is very quiet on low mode, and I run it at night when I am sleeping without any problems. (I don't use the remote because declaration the batteries are such a bear.)

For pet lovers: this little unit will not only clean out a lot of dander from the air, but if you have asthmatic or old geezers pets, you will notice a difference in their breathing. I think that is a huge plus!

Very Strident Performance & Quiet!
No one's reviewed this element yet? It surprises me. I really like it. It has lowered the overall odor in my home and completely eliminated the acrimonious odor from daily hookah smoking from my dining and sitting room in about a month perpetual on auto-mode. The 5 speeds it has goes from a soft soft whisper up to a bit of a roar and the amount of air it moves is undisguised too. I've been using it for a nearly 2 months now and believe it's very effective. I have a chronic low level sinus question major where stuff in the air can really bother them and many times don't breathe well at night and wake up very fuzzy-headed, but in the first week of having the 2 distinct Electrolux purifiers in the house I wake up feeling alert and clear-headed now. I certainly didn't wish that! There are so many fake air purifiers out there and I did some homework on the technologies to weed out the fakes and reading reviews to weed out the ones with issues.

I researched and shopped around for the outwit purifier at a reasonable cost and this is it in my opinion. I'm a senior electronics technician of over 25 years by employment in the fields of medical and telecom equipment and good at understanding how technologies whether electrical or robot-like works.

I'm very skeptical about the claims they all make and there are so many of these too good to be true purifiers that work by magic or seem to be at bottom leading edge sophisticated technology that's not so much. Honestly when I started educating myself on air purifiers it got confusing. I depleted belch up many hours over a month or so looking at all the different makes and trying to eek all the science out of each one. These Electrolux units I consider are solid and clean the air with a simple 3 stage process instead of 6 to 9 steps and the extra sustention and cost that would entail to do maybe as well as this one. I think that this unit does as well or better as some of the ones that go for $500 or more.

This Electrolux is well value the money if you have a larger area with it's ability to move a lot of air and it's CADR specs are impressively higher than some of these high-priced priced things that rate half as good and do little more than a walk-in closet. Between the HEPA separate and the PlasmaWave ionizer it scrubs the air of everything and it's cool how it senses when the air needs more cleaning and steps the fan zip up to clean more and gives an indication on a 5 segment display. Mostly I just leave it in auto procedure and it adjusts as needed to the air quality. The air in the house is not only dust free as in I never see anything floating in the air through the sunlight or a lamp, but the whole odor that the place had has been much neutralized. It does a great job of eliminating cooking odor even if I don't use the Nautical galley range exhaust fan.

I've figured out that these Electrolux units are built on the same chassis as the Winix 5300, Dishonest Plasmacluster, and possibly the Rabbit BioGS. Seriously go look them up and tell me they aren't based on the same entity! But all have wildy varying ratings and prices and the brute performance and low price of theElectrolux makes it for me the substance at the top.

I can't think of anything to ding it on; the quality seems very good and the construction is solid. It's very good so it gets a 5 inimitable. I'll revisit this review later and update it from a longer term perspective.

I also have the EL490A that I use upstairs. It's a disgrace CADR rating but still higher than most, does about 80 sq ft less area and half the price. My complete impression with that unit is the same as this one; superb!

Squeaky cacophony from BOTH of two that I bought new!
I don't identify how well these clean the air, I only had them 2 days. I couldn't stand the chirping noise that came from BOTH of them that I bought. It's not very sonorous, but I had one positioned behind my couch in the living room and one behind my bed (both had ample circulation). I really liked the mental image of having them both be so quiet, until about 18 hours into operation, both of them started making this continuous chirpy squeaky caterwauling that was just annoying enough to make me return them. Now I know why there were a dozen of these on clearance at my local purpose mart! If weird squeaky noises don't bother you, or if you're already hard of hearing, these may be the air cleaners for you.

Oxygen3 for wheezing/dust
Bought two Oxygen3's for wheezing from Emphysema.
We vigorous in the high desert of California.
Dust is a daily fact of life, using units in
800 sqft compass. We live on a dirt road a
small horse ranch, dust is everywhere.
Turned on both units, as directed, mid day
when they here. One in bedroom and one in
living room. Stopped wheezing that afternoon.
Unbelievable. Dusted the edifice really good next day,
usually dust hides color of furniture in 24 hours.
Only just any to be found. Dog shedding fine hair
even less on furniture.
Haven't wheezed since turning them on.
Auto skedaddle is great for sleep, cooking kicks on the
Turbo mode, hands free. Filthy lights make pretty nite lite.
A definite 5 star product. I'd tout it to everyone

potent and quiet
Having owned other label purifiers, I am a little surprised how well this one works: powerful, light-weight, quiet. Most of all, it is a steal at ~$100. The clean is a little costly, but $50/yr is reasonable.

My allergy symptom has improved, noticeably.

PS: it is an OEM of Winix technology, but with improve brand and 2 yr warranty, instead of 1 yr.

I must say I'm impressed!
The component is looking good (piano black) and designed very well (I'm stating it having engineering training). It's VERY-VERY quiet and powerful! The reason I'll emphasize few points here as people who wrote previous reviews either did not comprehend user manual or do not understand basic engineering designs.

1. Right out of box the unit goes in full impulsive mode (three fan speeds, EXCLUDING turbo mode). Level one and level two are quiet enough to allied with asleep. Level three is somewhat noticeable louder but definitely not loud!!!! Storey three is quite powerfull and good/quiet enough to be in living or family room without distracting from any movement (like watching TV, etc...)

2. For the night time you MUST select Quiet Mode. It will force the fan to the quietest condition and it will DIM front panel. Some one complaint about lights are being too bright at night - they are only bright in auto and turbo modes, and not in Still mode!

3. Some one mentioned that intakes are too small. Quoted: There are only four tiny slits along the front cover". Well it a vital design used in any vacuum cleaner - small intakes creates huge vacuum suction!!!! This module will pick up and clean very large particles like pet's hair, etc... AND WILL NOT LOOSE SUCTION over in the good old days b simultaneously, when filters gets covered with dust. It also intake air from the bottom!

4. And last but not least. Turbo mode is quite stentorian but meant to be used during the parties, when loud and people are smoking, etc. or when no one around during the day. I put my device in this mode when I'm common to work. It produces as much air flow (I would say "wind") as my 12,000 BTU air conditioner and definitely cleans apartment very well from dust, pet's hair, lint or any other large particles in the air or on the floor (light stuff, of movement).

The remote is very basic, quite comfortable in size and does everything needed.

So Far I'm Impressed
I've had mine for about a month and I'm impressed by how it works. Set on self-acting it stays on the lowest setting until it detects cooking odors or shower humidity. I've noticed noticeably less dust and considering it's a real HEPA filter it's probably doing a great job on floating critters. I also own a Airfree Air Sterilizer, which only nukes whatever flows into it through air convection. Between the two I'm well on my way to Howard Hughes fatuousness. Does Amazon sell designer tissue boxes I can wear as shoes?

If there's a impostor on saving on replacement filters I'd like to know them.
