Made Big Variation
For the guerdon, it's a very good whole house humidifier. It's dry in Arizona where we live, and my spouse had problems with dry nasal membranes that caused allegy-like symptoms. The humidifer has made a tremendous change, putting at least five gallons of moisture into the living area every day. The house interior temperature seems more acceptable than before, even with the AC set at 80 degrees.
It does take some effort re-filling the 2.5 gallon tank (weighing around 20 lbs.), but that would be in keeping of any large humidifier. Bacterial-static solution to prevent algae, mold, etc. must also be bonus with each re-fill.
My only complaint is that it's really noisy at any speed beyond the minimum speed, which we usually use. There is also a very subtle vibration run through that is barely noticeable. Even at low speed, it might not be appropriate for use in a bedroom for anyone who is a light sleeper. However, the noise (on nadir speed) is not that noticeable elsewhere. I would purchase this product again.

Humidifier is okay not trustworthy how long it will last.
The effect is okay. I have been running it non stop for 2 months. Cheaply made, floater gets stuck so sometimes you have to extract the humidifier so it will turn on after refilling.

A Tribulation to Fill!
I bought this entity as a second humidifier. I thought having 2 would allow me to keep the humidity higher and refill less often. This was a friendly looking unit, 3 speeds, 12-gallon output, and 5-gallon size. It wasn't difficult to put together but filling it was a nightmare! There is a single 2.5-gallon water mettle that is too tall to fit under most faucets. This is where the hose from hades comes in. You attach one end to the water faucet and inappropriate the other end into the water bottle and fill it up...sounds simple doesn't it...it's not. The hose comes straight out of the box with kinks in it. When you affiliate it to the faucet & turn the water on, a single kink will send a spray of water from the faucet end right into your face. You have to massage the kinks out while running the water practically at a trickle to stay dry & get the manfulness filled. It take twice as long to fill the bottle than it should. You then pour the water into the unit and start all over to fill the moxie alcohol a second time before placing it into the unit. I was so annoyed by the time I finished I had already decided to send it back. I stressed out it, dismantled it, packed it back into the box & sent it back the next day. I then ordered the Essick 821000. This was the first humidifier I bought the year before. It has a 6-gallon tank genius & an open reservoir with no bottles. I use 2-gallon buckets to fill it and it is quick & simple. It is inexpensive and solid enough to fit in narrow spaces. I would recommend the 821000 over any model with bottles & hoses.

works but for how yearn?
Essick Air H12-400 3 Does it industry: yes. Should you buy it? Maybe. It is hard to imagine how such a product could be designed and manufactured more cheaply. If I get one more than one season out of it I will be surprised. It makes me sad that American manufacturing has been decimated to the as regards that we have to tolerate so many cheaply made foreign products. With a bigger motor and more substantial construction this yield could last many years.

Not bad
This element had very good reviews and following those I purchased the it. It works very well and the only problem I had was with the floating wick. This shuts the solace off when the water reaches a low limit not to burn the motor out. Well, not being an expert on these, the plastic wick had a even bend and I had to heat and bend it straight. I had to contact customer service and they were very helpful and sent me pics to see how the wick system was putative to look. On that I am happy with the performance of the system and recommend it. Its quite and dont need to fill so often. The anti-bacterial treatment is not needed and skilful old scrubbing will clean this well.

Complimentary theory, poor design
I've had this humidifier for about two months now, and I'm disillusioned.
First off, the device to shut the unit off when it's empty is very, very poorly designed--that is to say, it doesn't work. I've tried any total of different ways to put the lid on to get this thing in place. The only way I've found to get the machine to turn back on after taking the lid off is to give it a good, effective "techical tap" to jiggle the auto shutoff lever.
The good news is that you can refill the humidifier without captivating the lid off. The bad news is that if you don't refill it in time, the only way to reset or override the auto shutoff is--you guessed it--a OK champion, solid thwack.
Given the number of times I've had to hit this machine, I guess I shouldn't be surprised that my motor now makes a very perceptible putt-putt sound.
Other assorted complaints I have with this humidifier:
-The high setting sounds like a storm or a jet engine. Overkill much?
-The filters seem to only last for a month or so.
That said, I really like that I can just indulge in the thing over to my sink and fill it with a hose. This is by far the easiest humidifier I've had to refill. I just wish I didn't have to rail against it to make it turn on.

Above-board to use & fill
I didn't effectuate how much I liked this humidifier until I bought a different one! I bought one of thes a year ago and chose it because of the evaluate and the large capacity (6 gallons) and what appeared to be a simple filling method. It was moderate to fill, and the digital display and controls are simple. It is supposed to cover 1700 square feet but I when all is said decided I would like to have a second humidifier to keep the humidity higher and refill less frequently. I unqualified to add the Essick Air H12-400 3-speed humidifier as my second one. It was a nightmare to fill! I'll save the details for my study of that model. I packed it up & sent it back the next day and ordered another Essick 821000. I use 2 2-gallon buckets to fill this segment & it is very simple and quick. No bottles or hoses to worry about. Since I have 2 I don't have to refill as often. The high setting is a teeny-weeny loud but I only us it at night or when I'm not home to get the humidity up quickly. I always us a bacterial water treatment for humidifiers so I never have yeast or odors. This unit is also narrow so it fits between pieces of furniture or in an inconspicuous place in the extent. I recommend it over any model with bottles and hoses!

Very Substantial large humidifier
I've been using a broad whole house or console humidifier for about 5 years. This is by far the easiest to refill out of any I have owned.
Pros-
Very Unreserved to refill - No screw caps or tanks to carry.
Quiet in low mode
Large branch water reserve
Cons-
Lid is hard to get on right. Takes some time and patience, but you don't have to take it off to refill the piece.
It is loud on the high setting.

Rattling question is unbearable
This humidifier is advantageous to refill, easy to use. The problem is that the fan/motor rattles most of the time, and the noise is unbearable. The jolt persists on both low and high speeds. When the rattling stops, the sound is very tolerable, but the quiet does not last. Working the unit from tile to linoleum made no difference. The Sears models are much quieter.
Another problem is that the refine was in place rather than in a sterile package, so it was dirty on arrival.

Does the job, but jarring.
I received this component just before Christmas 2009. Our house was so dry I was slowly pruning. At 1500 sq.ft. on the main bring down with 9 foot ceilings it keeps us quite comfortable and does the job. Have been running it straight since near the start December and no mechanical problems. Be aware of the following:
LOOKS: This cabinet model looks improve on the website than in person. It is a darker brown than shown (not as orange) but still a pleasing colour. It is made of pliant and has a woodgrain pattern, but doesn't quite live up to getting away with it, mostly because of the slightly warped top opening (yes, vents from top, cannot put stuff on top of here without blocking the ventilation). Ours comes out of the plastic hinge at the back and does not settle well in all grooves, but probably not noticeable to guests. It needs to sit with it's back against a wall, as the back of the unit is not covered by a perilous woodgrain cover, although it is brown plastic. You also notice the black filter hooked on the exterior back sucking "filtered" air into the unit. My favourite part is it's on four wheels, so it is very easy to move and vacuum around on my wood floors. Unless you have shag rug, it should also be tolerably easy to move on a short pile rug.
CONTROLS: It has two dials "humidity control" and "variable airflow". The humidity command does not go by numbers (i.e. 50% - 75%) so you don't really know the current level of your home; however it does let someone have you to set low / comfort zone / high arond the dial, and will toggle off when it reaches the desired humidity focus be set. We set ours 1/4 turn above the comfort zone and that works well. Note that setting it on high still doesn't peel your wallpaper, you can't even see the humidity yet to come out like you can on an ultrasonic BUT it does do the trick, as confirmed by the empty bottles I'm constantly refilling. The capricious airflow dial goes from OFF/COMFORT ZONE (which starts immediately from off) to HIGH. This part is LOUD!! When they say comfort zone they mean for your EARS. I only put it up to 12o'clock position (medium, I imagine) when I'm out of the room, and any higher is just noisy with HIGH being like a battering ram. The comfort zone is to the fullest extent and since we situate it right by our kitchen/nook and living room we keep it low. (I know what you're thinking - we have captivated it apart and rechecked our setup, it is correct with nothing unusual accidentally left inside, no true reason it should be this loud. Only thing I can think of is plastic rumbling on four wheels with the echo of our hardwood floors - peradventure it won't be as much of an issue for you).
BOTTLES: There are two large 2.5 gallon bottles that rest on the left and virtuousness of inside cabinet. They are easy to fill and the unit comes with a tube to help you fill from your tap. Also comes with one negligible bottle of bacteriostatic additive to get you going. We use distilled water so we don't have the hard water build up in the bottom reservoir, you may lack to use soft/distilled if you can get it or put an additive in to dissolve minerals. The bottles have handles on both top and bottom so when you turn them over to go on them in it is easy to handle the weight. We don't spill any water when doing this and it's a great design. Also sound are two "refill" lights that light up orange when each bottle is empty. They are easy to see through the grill on top as you're walking by, but not forward. Very easy to refill while the other still is going, no need to turn unit off.
NOISE and PRICE: It's the only big obstacle, and the price at $200 USD is steep for what it is. Would love to see real wood for that price, as there really isn't much to the part but a small fan, filter, and plastic.
All in all, there aren't alot of different makes on the market to pick out from, especially ones that don't look utilitarian. This will do what you're looking for but be aware if you have unusual dryness in your compass and need to pump humidity with the control on HIGH, the noise from this baby will stop you from hearing your child monitor and could keep you and baby up at night; otherwise, sleep soundly in the "Comfort Zone". Reputable luck with your purchase!

Effective but cheap
This module might be a fine humidifier but the fit and finish of the components is horrible. The casters are almost impossible to seat becomingly, in fact I broke one and am now trying to get a replacement. It may work but I would not buy this again.

This implement does the job.
Up here in the chasmic north it is essential to have humidifier if you have musical instruments, or anything made out of nice wood. I have tried several unusual options, and evaporative humidifiers are the best. This one has enough nice features to warrent an excellent rating. The predominant great feature is that it is easy to add water to the system. The tanks remove easily, and can be filled from the pantry sink (they are too tall for filling in a bathroom sink). In the dead of winter calculate to fill it daily, but fortunately this is big enough to only need filling once per day. Other nice features include a fan speed supervise (pump humidity in fast because you were gone all weekend and its dry), or quiet. At low speed settings you just know its on. I also like the optional air cleaning evaporator. It apparently slows down air flow, but that seems trivial since the fan can just be turned up.

Very kindly cold air humidifier for winter above the frost line or in dry living area.
I would advisable this variable speed humidifier, since it has two 2.5 gallon holding tanks, with a filter, two organize variable speed controls, one for humidity levels, with a thermastat humidity control, and the other lash, controls the fan speed, which runs quiet, and the benefit is a humid living environment, with a unobtrusive operation, that does not have to be filled twice a day where the holding tank is one, with a usual one to two gallon totality holding capacity. Bought new and would recommend.

Does the job, bottles not interchangeable
I received this a unite days ago and so far so good. The humidity has gone from 40 to 50% in our house and it is much more comfortable. We do have a humidifier built into our oven, but the high-efficiency furnaces just aren't on long enough to put out much water.
One caveat on this portion design with the angled corners - the right and left bottles are not interchangeable. With a rectangular pattern unit, when the right bottle empties you can switch the full left one to the right, fill the empty bottle and put it in the sinistral. This way you were constantly cycling through fresh water fills while only needing to refill one bottle at a epoch. With this angle corner design unit, you really need to allow both bottles to empty, or at least replenish both when you do refill in order to ensure fresh water is always feeding in. This also can cause waste of any antibacterial unravelling being used.
Other than that, works great and I would recommend.

Garbage Humidifier
This came with a 2 inch cinch of tape on the bottom of the shipping box. I don't know how it made it here. We opened it up and it is damaged, of course. The lid will not fit on the product. I am so disappointed in this. Now, what a with it is going to be to return it, even if we can. Cheap product, I say. Do not buy this item.

skimpy quality
ON the and side the unit is capable of putting a lot of moisture into the air. In the first 24 hours of running it put almost 15 gallons out.
The negatives stash up fast mostly due to poor finish quality.
1) The stain on the top cover has drip marks on it and portions of it look like a chemical was spilled on it removing its luster.
2) The back of the segment is not stained but is white and in the directions its says to leave the unit 4" from any wall which means you do see the back of the part. The hinges on the back which hold the cover in place and stick up were not painted and they are clearly visible.
3) The constituent is made of plastic which is to be expected. However the panels of the unit are so thin that they were all warped. The top is ill fitting at best and the front panel has a clear-cut bow to it.
4) Its loud on anything more then the lowest settings you cannot carry on a conversation on the telephone in the same room with it.
To sum up: It looks like refuse but humidifies well.
I'm off to go find a place to hide this from sight. Wish it was as pretty as the picture.

Bizarre Humidifer
This obsession is great! I grew up with a humidifer in the house. This thing is 10X better than I expected! In Arizona this is a must. Those who say this quirk sounds like a B-52, your crazy!!! It looks great and does an dazzling job and keeping the house comfortable. Worth every penny!!! WOW!!!
