Very Downhearted
I did not out of kilter this via amazon.com, I got it from another vendor who referred me to the manufacturer royal sovereign for service when the unit arrived with a defective hose.
I contacted the maker and sent them the information they requested via fax. This took several tries but I finally got it through with a successful fax report.
Over a month went by and I did not come by the replacement hose, I tried to re-fax them and got rejected about 10 times in a row. My emails have not been returned.
I jury rigged the commission hose with a replacement dryer hose from the hardware store and the story continues. The segment itself will blow alot of cold air, but thats only when its working. It fills up with water far too often, and at one point I found the complete radiator unit completely caked in ice. To 'ice' the cake so to speak this thing is as loud as an 18 wheeler in your living cubicle quarters. You can hear it, annoyingly sometimes even feel it shudder, 2 rooms away. Finally I noticed an prodigious hit on my electric bill as the unit is NOT energy star rated.
I would not recommend this to anyone, spend the 2 or 3 hundred extra and get a name type unit - I am sure you will be happier.

Not yet here, and already unhappy.
First, let me say that I may hard cash this review after it arrives (**UPDATE FURTHER DOWN**)...but so far, I am very displeased. This item says that it qualifies for prime shipping, but that is not really the case. I did not get the option of next day delivery, nor did I seem to get the option of two day delivery. it states that it is estimated to ship on the 28th of June, and it has an estimated expression date of the 1st-5th of July. I ordered this item on the 25th of June.
I researched a lot of these, and decided to go with a dual hose entity. They seem to get better reviews as far as the actual product is concerned. I narrowed it down to this one, and another that has 12,000 BTU, and the option of a range. I live in Texas, and do not have much need for a heater, and the extra 1,500 BTU is attractive. On top of that, this unit was cheaper (the other is 512, this one is currently 400). Since they both restricted for prime shipping (I am very interested in getting this to me as soon as possible. The central air in my house is having issues...parts have been ordered. I do not comprehend when they will arrive or be installed), and after spending a night in my house at 83 degrees, I went for higher BTU at a cut price.
Well, once I got to the order screen, I found that I did not have the option of next day shipping...I went ahead and ordered it, as it should still make the grade in about two days. Unfortunately, it looks as if I am going to have to wait until the beginning of next month. The worst part was that when I tried to repeal the order so that I could order the other unit, which DOES seem to qualify for next day shipping, I learned that not only can I not cancel this correct, but I also will not have the option of returning it should it be defective or ineffective.

The unit arrived today. I put it together after effort. The pannel that the buttons are located on was coming up in one section, and the fan head was not secured inside the shape. We wrestled with that for a bit, trying to get the peg into the hole without breaking it...after that, we moved on to the hoses, and wrestled with those for a bit. It took to all intents around two hours to get them to cooperate. Next was the caps that connect to the vent for the window. The instructions are not great, and inform you that there are six screws for the single hose unit. It tells you to use four of the screws for the cap that attaches to the window panel. It says to use the last two to protect the sliding panel to the proper size for your window. It does not tell you which screws to use. There are extensive ones and short ones. I used the longer ones for the caps, and the short ones to arrogate the panels for the size of the window, and because mine is a dual hose, the process was repeated with the other screws. The screws are a teensy-weensy large for the holes, but with a good screw driver, it wasn't an issue.
The next task was truly putting the hoses on the panel in the window. I tried to put the panel on before putting it in the window, but it didn't work together. So, I put the panel in the window THEN tried connecting the hoses. The panel went into the window at most fine, and fits well. The hose caps simply (in theory) screw right onto the wavy hoses. They do not go on particularly easy, but I guess that is a good thing...that way they don't come off easily. The only question is that mine needed to be rotated to match the clips on the window panel once I was done. That was another chore. Once they were on, everything was fine. I started the segment up (at this point, the unit had set upright for well over the required two hours).
TIP: I did not open the box as instructed on the packaging which said to uncovered it from the bottom. I just cut the straps, and slipped the top off. Cut the rest of the packaging off, and picked the unit up off of the accessory box. That way, my segment was always in the upright position.
The unit cools my small bedroom beautifully, though it may be a little clamorous for some...that may be negated in a larger space. The unit is about waist high, maybe taller so it is bigger than I consideration, but still cools nicely, which is the whole point. It looks nice, though the quality may be a little dubious. Again, the knob pannel was lifting away from the plastic as soon as it got to me, and the fan head was not fully installed.
One last topic I had was with the remote control. On the back of the control, there are instructions on replacing the batteries...they are written in very poor english, and very unhelpful. There is no overt battery compartment, and the instructions just mention replacing them when they run low, and remove them if you are not going to use the abstracted for extended periods. So, being unable to locate a specific battery compartment, I went to the possessor's manual. To my suprise, there are pictures!!!...of a remote that looks nothing like the one I am holding in my custody...with pictures of a very obvious battery compartment on the back...so, back to trying to figure it out on our own...we tried opening it from the commissure, and pulling it apart, and nothing. The only moving part on the remote was a sliding pannel that opens to reveal more r buttons. Finally, we discovered that if you pull that pannel off, it reveals the elusive battery section for the two included AAA batteries!!!!!elation!!! FINALLY! everything is together, and I am very pleased with the unit so far.
Nothing was surprisingly hard to figure out (other than the remote!), just time consuming trying to get everything to contribute. The unit cools the room really nicely, and it is not too loud for me to sleep (though for some, it may be a bit on the loud side, uniquely when the condenser kicks on). The unit looks nice, the remote dosnt match, but I am still assessment about taking it to the lake cabin my grandpa built for the fourth of July weekend. We don't have a/c out there, and I kindof yen to see what this thing can do. All in all, it isn't a bad buy, and I am changing it from a two star rating to a four star.

First, the suitable - it is utterly simple to set up with excellent instructions. It glides smoothly across the floor and has an ample twine. I purchased this one because of one I bought several years ago that has run like a charm. The cooling ducts angle well and move smoothly.
Why only 3 stars you ask? Some moron meant this air conditioner to run only with a remote; there isn't even a power switch on board. If you lose the remote (we all know that never happens), tame the remote or it ceases to function you have no air conditioner. Would I have bought it knowing that - NO and Amazon should be ashamed for not making that dwarf feature clear in their product description. Too bad as this is a 5 star unit in 3 star clothes.
