Sharp idea but doesn't fit a lot of apartments
This colophon is NOT universal.

I live in a pre-war apartment building in Manhattan. The facade is brick with drip edges around the windows - very stock. This product basically does not work with this kind of wall. I bought the small one, based on the the measurements of our a/c unit, but the bracket was way too short and did not extend out far enough for the support arm to reach the outside wall. So I bought the larger one, which was meant for A/Cs much bigger than ours, and has a longer bracket but still it did not fit the wall. The only way I managed to get it to work was by using the longer support but with the support arm from the smaller one. It still is not that great but it is better than nothing. And for a grand total of over $80.. 1/3 of the cost of the a/c itself!

My suggestion is try to check if it works on your building. It is not easy to tell until you get it home and try to install it.

Skilful fit
I purchased the Weighty Duty Window Unit Support Kit after my super informed me that my air conditioner was installed incorrectly. The kit was easygoing to use and did the trick. My window unit is installed correctly and I do not have to worry about it falling out the window.

Not categorically universal
this obsession is designed for a window that has a window ledge...mine doesn't, so this became very useless for me right when I opened it up and TRIED to use it...very minute paper weight though...if you get this, make sure you have like 4 inches of ledge or this will also become very useless to you too...the one that came with the A/C component I bought works better then this does....that one is really universal...wait to buy something like this unless you Be versed you need it....other then that I couldn't use it...it would have work perfictly if I did in fact have a ledge like it was intended for :)

very extravagant bracket
Not accurately thrilled with an item which cannot be installed per instructions. The nylon attach mechanisim was so thick I had to redrill the metal disperse and attach it with additional screws. Now I have several pieces of nylon cluttering my garage. Had I tried to instate the included nylon fittings the airconditioner would have been 2" off the lower sill. Make your own grade.

The air conditioner window segment support brace was easy to install on my pre-assembled shop building and provided a affluent support for the A/C unit. It was designed for buildings with a full-size window sill, but my window sill could be modified to fit the brace. I used a hammer and sharp chisel to cut away a part of the aluminum channel for the window protect (which I am not using anymore) to make room for the plastic support to fit flat on the sill. I also had to add a 2x4 prop under the window sill for the attaching screws to screw into. I made sure that the window brace was slanted down to purvey water drainage from the A/C unit.

In all probability not to fit your window
The exact thing about this bracket is you can install it from inside without getting on a ladder.
The bad thing: It probably won't fit on your window.

The organize requires that you have a window sill (not all windows have one) which extends for a certain length - not too much or too little from your skin wall. It also requires that your window not extend to high above the sill (vinyl windows have a on which seems to be too high).
You will be able to install the bracket. The problem is, the hinged support underneath won't reach your facing wall. Or, if it does, the angle will be too shallow to provide adequate support. Or you may get lucky.
I bought two of these and it wouldn't fit well on either apartment where I tried to install it. (the fit is hard to explain, which is probably why they didn't).
They tried to prosper it adjustable. There are plastic spacers and multiple screw holes. They just did a poor job.

Not bad at all
Moral product over all. The only bad thing, it is made to be installed on outer side of the window frame, but new windows unfortunately are not made this way.

First-rate Product
I reach-me-down this product for 5,000 BTU Air Conditioners and it works well. The inserts make it adjustable and easy to fit in any window. The coronation took a little planning, but it was not difficult. I have only casement windows in the living room so I have to transfer the roll out part of the window to fit in a window air conditioner. I was able to use this mounting bracket on this as well. It's a lot better than unfavorable the window sill and having pieces of wood to support the A/C unit like I had to do last year. Entire, a great product that works well.

Does your window have a sill?
Won't drudgery with flush mounted windows unless you place a ledger outside and notch it to hold the cross piece. The design of this brace assumes the window has a sill. Once installed, it works but for windows without a sill be processed with some tools, i.e., tape, power saw, and drill.

This produce is great. I worried about having something to safely support our large ac and this does just okay. It is sturdy and easy to put up. The only complaint was having to spend the extra money after shelling out a link hundred on the ac to begin with.
