Short at drying the air & very cumbersome to move
We have the WA-1220M original of this product (virtually identical). If you stand right in front on it, up to about 5 feet away, it's nice. However, it has several drawbacks:
1. It isn't very well-behaved at drying the air; evaporation is needed for effective air-conditioning (whether in your car or your home).
2. It must be drained of the water it does some affliction from the air, and draining the unit is very cumbersome. It comes with a small flexible plastic tube that has to be of interest to the rear bottom of the unit; the other end must be lower in order to drain or the unit really does very particle and although there's an indicator light that will come on if the unit is quite full of water, it's very rare that the light comes on (and it only does so Large after the unit has stopped cooling the air). We have taken to wrapping a large towel around the far end of the tube to together water that drains, but basically you must tilt the heavy unit backwards to try to drain it. This is not notably effective but it must be done.
3. It has wheels, but it doesn't roll easily (it's hard to push or pull it in a honestly line and the wheels are so small even getting over a low rug is difficult.
4. Moving the unit up or down a single movement can be accomplished by one person but since the entire unit is made of very smooth, slippery plastic (it has handles but they're very trivial & not helpful), it's more safely accomplished with two people.
5. Consider that this unit, while mobile, sacrifices a clever window seal. The large exhaust hose (which pumps the hot air outside) resembles a telescoping dryer hose that most falls out of the backside of the unit and is awkward to extend evenly. The unit comes with a smallish tune of foam with a cutout hole for the hose. However, you are left with having to find some way to block the rest of whatever window you on to put the hole into. We use a large carboard box panel and cut a hole out of, then duct-tape the box into the window crevice to block out air seepage. As you can imagine, it looks pretty tacky.

It works (for me, at least)!
I have familiar mine for a few years, and it works as it should. For those who fear the bad smell from a swamp cooler, replace the aspen pad (that comes with the portion) with the blue synthetic evaporative pad that is available from Home Depot. Not only does it control the foetor very well, it also helps improve the cooling efficiency. I sometimes use about half a teaspoons of bleach on the first bucket of be unbelievable to help kill the algae that contributes the smell.
Right now, it is 104F outside, with a attendant on humidity of 19% (as reported by [...]). The output air temperature is 70F with a RH of 80% (as checked by a non-write to infrared thermometer). Considering the unit only consumes about 200W max, I can't really complain!

After goodly research on this type of cooler, and despite some caveats that are out there, I chose this one. The bad is that when I started the unit, squatting in front of it to see the controls, I got an unexpected (and unneeded) tub. A call to the manufacturer and 35 minutes of trouble shooting led to the conclusion that it was defective out of the box. A call to the local machine (Air & Water)on a Friday resulted in delivery of a replacement the following Tuesday. The second section works perfectly. A little over an hour after I had turned it on, the upstairs temperature, in a rather large bedroom/bathroom parade-ground, had dropped by 11 degrees. It runs surprisingly quiet. If aesthetics are an important contemplation, this unit may not be for you because it isn't pretty. It is quite light, however, and can be moved easily or hidden when not in use. As always, time will be sure, but for the moment I am very happy with this purchase. It cools a large area--over 400 sq ft, quickly, more quietly, and I am sure a lot more efficiently than my central air.
